Two weeks into the 2024-25 NBA season, early surprises and struggles have already shaken up preseason expectations.
In the Eastern Conference, the Bucks are still seeking chemistry between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, leading to one of the worst starts in franchise history. Meanwhile, the 76ers, still without Joel Embiid, have stumbled out of the gate. Paul George debuted on Monday, but Embiid landed a three-game suspension upon being cleared to play.
Out West, the Suns and Warriors are off to solid starts. Phoenix appears to have unlocked the full potential of its big three—Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal—while Golden State has benefited from offseason addition Buddy Hield, who helped the team get by without Stephen Curry for three games as he dealt with an ankle injury.
