Anthony Davis was his usual dominating self on Monday, producing 37 points, nine rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes.
It came in a loss, so that stings, but more worrisome is that with around five minutes left in the game, Davis cut to the basket, received a pass from Austin Reaves and went up for a left-handed layup. When he landed, though, he suffered an injury to his left ankle. He stayed in the game for another minute but was limping up and down the court.
After the game, Davis sounded somber in the locker room and mentioned that he’s been dealing with an ankle issue since summer, and that he re-aggravated the spot that’s been “killing” him.
His status for Wednesday’s game is TBD.
