UPDATE 5:37 p.m. ET: James Conner has returned to the game. He seems to have avoided any injury whatsoever.
As the second quarter was winding down in the Week 9 game against the Bears, James Conner seemed to injure himself on a goal line carry.
This occurred on a Cardinals drive in which he was the key cog, positively out-toughing the Bears defense. The run in question was characteristically physical for a James Conner carry, and he broke multiple tackles before falling awkwardly out of bounds, just behind the pylon.
Trey Benson would go on to punch the ball into the endzone, and the Cardinals now leave 14-3.
We’ve heard no official announcement from the team, but we’ll provide one here if we do. It sure looked like Conner was about to have himself a potential blow-up day against the Bears if he were to remain healthy. Before he left, he carried the ball 11 times for 73 yards, and had caught the ball thrice for 12 yards.
