Kyren Williams is having a monster season and ranks second in the league in rushing touchdowns, behind only Derrick Henry. The Rams had a slow start to the season due to injuries to Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. However, Kupp and Nacua both returned last week against the Vikings and the Rams scored 30 points against one of the league’s best defenses.
The Seahawks’ defense ranks in the bottom half of the league in both dropback EPA and dropback success rate. Therefore, Matthew Stafford should be able to hit Kupp and Pacua downfield. They will then find their balance running the ball with Kyren Williams. The Seahawks are 27th in the NFL in defensive rush EPA, so Williams should be able to pick up chunks on the ground.
Between the dominant running game and the aerial threat to their two star receivers, Williams shouldn’t get much action through the air. Williams’ longest catch of the year is just 15 yards and he’s only had a catch of 10 yards or more in two games this season. Over his last four games, Williams’ longest reception is just seven yards. In one of those games he only had one catch for three yards and he had zero catches in another.
Williams is unlikely to clear those numbers in this game and should go under his longest reception prop of 9.5.
