We have another large early-only slate on the docket this week, with eight of the 12 NFL Week 9 games kicking off in the early window.
Below I have listed my two favorite value plays on the board this week.

DraftKings Value Picks
Chris Olave ($6,100)
Despite being $6,100, it’s hard to not classify Olave as the best value play on the early-only slate. He played his first game without Rashid Shaheed in the lineup last week against the Chargers, and saw a whopping 14 targets. He turned those targets into eight catches and 107 yards, which was Olave’s first time surpassing the century mark this year.
Things are looking even rosier this week for the Ohio State product, as the Saints will be getting QB Derek Carr back from his oblique injury, who’s undoubtedly a massive upgrade from rookie Spencer Rattler. In addition, he will be facing the hapless Panthers’ defense, a unit allowing a league-worst 33.9 points per game — 5.6 points worse than any other team in the NFL. Carolina is also allowing the second-most yards per game, while sitting 21st in FPTS allowed to opposing wide receievers.
Everything is in place for Olave to absolutely smash in this spot, and yet he’s still priced as if Rattler is starting. No need to overthink this one.
Chase Brown ($5,900)
Speaking of not needing to overthink things, that brings us to Chase Brown, who should see all the work he can handle this week with Zack Moss set to miss vs. the Raiders. Brown has already been trending up of late, out-touching Moss each of the past four weeks, while posting at FPT totals of 11.4, 14.4 and 16.4 in that stretch. In Week 4 vs. the Panthers, Brown went for 23.2 FPTS, despite seeing an identical workload to Moss.
He’s in a dream spot this week as a seven-point home favorite vs. the Raiders, a team that ranks 24th in the league in FPTS allowed to opposing RBs. Brown’s only competition for touches will be special-teamer Trayveon Williams, who has a grand total of zero offensive snaps this season. Brown could be a true three-down workhorse in this spot, and is a -155 favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook to score a touchdown.
He is way too cheap at just $5,900.
