DraftKings Value Picks
Moritz Wagner ($4,900)
With the status of Orlando frontcourt members Wendell Carter Jr. and Gogo Bitadze up in the air due to injury, Mo Wagner is likely to see another uptick in playing time. The seventh-year pro has carved out a decent role on the bench for the Magic after signing with the club in 2021. He’s not the same offensive hub that led the Michigan Wolverines to a national title game, but he’s a serviceable stretch four/five who can light it up on occasion.
Wagner struggles to rebound his position, but his massive frame helps him finish near the cup. The passing ability he’s flashed during stretches in international circuits with the German national team, but has never translated to the NBA.
The 27-year-old gets a matchup with a Dallas group that is fierce at guarding the paint but struggles to limit opponents from beyond the arc. Wagner does most of his damage from downtown and should have no problem launching high-quality looks.
Zaccharie Risacher ($4,800)
The first overall pick has gotten little fanfare, but Zaccharie Risacher has had some promising flashes early into his career. The French rookie had a phenomenal showing Wednesday in Washington, dropping 17 points and six rebounds while chipping in a pair of blocks. The long and rangy wing has a solid handle and a prototypical jumper.
The three-point stroke has yet to fully develop, but he’s confident from distance, and the shots will eventually start to fall at a higher clip. If he can begin to use his size more to his advantage, Atlanta should feel excellent about him being a future pillar of the franchise. In a matchup with New Orleans, Risacher should be a walking mismatch against one of the smaller units in the league.
