Guard
Stud
Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks vs. Orlando Magic ($11,400) โ There are two expensive guards on Sunday’s two-game slate. Trae Young ($10,400) will likely play 40 minutes for the injury-depleted Hawks. Both can fit with the NBA DFS value picks that are available. Doncic will also play 40 minutes and take 25 shots. The Magic have dropped three of their last four and aren’t playing good defense. There are a lot of mouths to feed in Dallas, but fading Doncic on a small slate seems unimaginable.
Other Options โ Trae Young ($10,400)
Value
Garrison Mathews, Atlanta Hawks at Dallas Mavericks ($3,300) โ Atlanta has a full list of players on the injury report. Garry Bird was forced into a larger role on Friday. He seized the opportunity. Mathews played nearly the entire second half and scored 23 points. All of the Hawks backups are in play on Sunday. They’re not total punts. Their prices and projected minutes would be valuable on a larger slate not just a two-gamer.
Other Options โ Keaton Wallace ($3,500), Jose Alvarado ($5,600)
Forward
Stud
Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks at New Orleans Pelicans ($8,400) โ The top of the forward position isn’t great. Franz Wagner ($7,400) is a possible option with Paolo Banchero ($9,400) out and Wendell Carter Jr. ($5,400) questionable. Zion Williamson ($9,100) could slide in at forward with a value pick entering the center spot. Johnson also benefits from injuries. He plays 40 minutes per night and could score 20 points and grab 20 rebounds.
Other Options โ Franz Wagner ($7,400)
Value
Klay Thompson, Dallas Mavericks vs. Orlando Magic ($5,800) โ After his Mavs debut, Thompson has cooled off. His threes aren’t falling. He’s still firing (49 3PA) and playing (29.3 MPG). Thompson is an intriguing value pivot. He does not pair well with Luka Doncic and Doncic fits in lineups. There’s a ton of value on this slate. Thompson will carry low ownership and has tremendous upside if the threes fall.
Other Options โ David Roddy ($4,400), Brandon Boston Jr. ($3,800)
Center
Stud
Zion Williamson, New Orleans Pelicans vs. Atlanta Hawks ($9,100) โ This will be the most popular NBS DFS pick on DraftKings. The star guards should split ownership. Forward is weak up top and Williamson works at forward. The Pelicans aren’t at full strength, so Williamson should get max usage. Last but not least, the Hawks are running thin. Williamson scored 61 DKFP in 37 minutes in his last game on Nov. 1.
Value
Clint Capela, Atlanta Hawks at Dallas Mavericks ($5,600) โ The Hawks split their minutes at center. Their injuries resulted in Capela getting some extra run on Friday night. Capela played most of the second half and closed out the game while his platoon partner Onyeka Okungwa ($5,400) sat. Capela finished with 30.5 DKFP in 29 minutes with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Other Options โ Yves Missi ($4,300)
