The Cavaliers look to win their eighth straight game to open the season Monday night against the division rival Bucks. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Cleveland is currently a seven-point favorite, with the game’s point total at 228.5.
Below, I’ve honed in on my favorite prop bet centered around Cavs superstar Donovan Mitchell.
Best Donovan Mitchell Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Donovan Mitchell 30+ Points (+195)
With Kenny Atkinson taking over as coach, Cleveland has flashed a much more balanced attack. The group is sixth in assists and second in offensive rating. Even with this evident shift in playstyle, Donovan Mitchell will still get his shots up. One of the most talented scorers in the sport, Mitchell has had an uber-efficient start to the early campaign—shooting 50% from the floor and 40% from distance. He’s consistently accelerating downhill, stopping for a midrange jumper, or exploding toward the cup. If defenders go under the screen and try to steer him away from the paint, his sweet stroke from beyond the arc makes them pay.
Milwaukee is off to a 1-5 start, in part due to a putrid defensive backcourt. Damian Lillard and Gary Trent Jr. are an undersized tandem to begin with, and both struggle to stay in front of their matchups. The latter, in particular, spent a lot of time trying to limit Mitchell with little success.
In his previous outing against this same Bucks squad, Mitchell dropped 30 and buried the game-winner. This adjusted line offers excellent value, considering his prior showing.
Donovan Mitchell 4+ Three Pointers (+135)
Doc Rivers’ only strategy left to neutralize Mitchell is to pray he misses long jump shots. The 28-year-old is getting to the rim at will and is shooting 83% when he’s there. Milwaukee’s only adjustment is to play drop coverage frequently, and I hope it’s not Mitchell’s night. The Bucks will live with Mitchell launching from downtown, but he’s special enough to make them pay. Expect “Spida” to continue his hot streak and finally enter the early MVP conversations.
Parlaying both these props on the DraftKings Sportsbook would be +270.
