DeAndre Hopkins Over 60 Receiving Yards (+210)
It takes time for even an experienced wideout to create chemistry with a new quarterback. In his first game with the reigning Super Bowl champions, DeAndre Hopkins corralled two of his three targets for 29 yards in the win over Las Vegas. He only ran 14 routes and played about 32% of the available offensive snaps. Changing systems mid-season is difficult enough, but Hopkins went from a club likely picking in the top 10 in the upcoming NFL Draft to one looking for its third-straight ring. His lack of playtime is surely indicative of how little time he had to digest the playbook, but with another week under his belt, he’s due to get more of an opportunity to make an impact.
At 32 years old, he’s not the human highlight reel that took the league by storm, but he’s a serviceable threat on the perimeter who knows how to get open. Tampa Bay’s defense ranks 23rd in EPA per pass and has struggled to stop talented pass catchers. Hopkins has only topped the 60-yard mark once this campaign, but the Chiefs are desperate for any receiver to step up. Hopkins should see a massive uptick in targets as the group looks to refine their struggling aerial attack. This alt line is a smidge high, but at this value, it’s hard to ignore.
DeAndre Hopkins Over 3.5 Receptions (-175)
All the logic from above carries over into his reception line. Coach Andy Reid should have designed looks ready for Hopkins to help get him more involved. He should be only below Travis Kelce on the totem pole going forward, and I expect this threshold to be much higher going forward. Take advantage of this while you can, and get in on the Hopkins resurgence now.
