Is Tyrone Tracy playing in Week 9 vs. the Commanders?

Updated:

By: Zach Thompson

The Giants and Commanders meet for the second time this season in Week 9. Since their Week 2 clash, the Commanders have become one of the best stories of the season. The Giants, however, have been scuffling. One bright spot in the New York offense has been the emergence of Tyrone Tracy Jr. ($5,500), but Tracy was forced to leave last Monday’s game against the Steelers with a concussion.

Even on a short week, though, it looks like Tracy will be able to play on Sunday.

The Tracy takeover

At the start of the season, Devin Singletary ($6,100) was the featured back in New York’s offense playing over 65% every week from Week 1 through Week 4. While Singletary was hurt, though, Tracy emerged as the top option. He broke through with 17.0 fantasy points and 129 rushing yards against the Seahawks. He’s stayed in the top spot even after Singletary’s return.

Tracy’s best fantasy game of the year was Monday night in a tough matchup against the Steelers. He took a season-high 20 carries for 145 yards, and scored his second touchdown. That was good for a season-high 26.0 fantasy points.

Tracy himself took to X while in the Concussion Protocol and reminded fans he still has lots of room to grow:

Tracy’s outlook vs. the Commanders

After clearing the protocol, Tracy is a great value option for DFS contests like the NFL $2.75M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st]. He’s under $6,000 and has produced at least 17 fantasy points in three of the last four weeks. While he and Singletary will share work, he is much cheaper and has been more productive lately.

Tracy has big potential as a pass-catcher too since he is a converted wide receiver and excels in pass protection.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Giants are four-point home underdogs and Tracy is +115 to score a touchdown, which seems like good value since the Commanders have given up five running back touchdowns in the last three weeks.
