The NFL regular season will reach the halfway point at the end of Week 9, and whether the glass is half full or half empty for your team, it’s been a dramatic and exciting season so far. With 30 of the 32 NFL teams taking the field this weekend, there are plenty of great matchups to get excited about. The action begins on Thursday with the Jets trying to turn things around as they host the Texans in an important AFC contest.
Most of the games take place on Sunday afternoon this week when the NFL has 12 games scheduled. For the second week in a row, eight games kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, and this week, they’re followed by four games in the later window, including two very important divisional matchups.
Sunday Night Football is a fascinating matchup between the Colts and Vikings: two teams hoping to be in the playoff race in the second half of the season. The final game of the week is also great as the undefeated Chiefs are in action against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.
Each week, I’ll post the relevant info for the biggest matchups from DraftKings Sportsbook to help you find the stats and trends that matter. You can use these numbers to fill out your Week 9 betting card with single bets or combine them into an awesome parlay. Just a quick reminder before we begin: “SU” means “Straight Up,” while “ATS” stands for “Against the Spread.” Spreads used in records are taken from DraftKings Sportsbook at the kickoff of each game.
Make sure to check out our betting splits table as well, where you can see where the public is leaning in each matchup.
Throughout the week leading up to kickoff, DK Network will bring plenty of insight on NFL betting picks, NFL DFS contests, and more specific insights on player props, matchups, and strategies throughout the season.

The Texans are 6-2 SU/3-5 ATS this year after winning but not covering last week against the Colts. That has been their pattern this season, and now they’ll have the added challenge of being without Stefon Diggs (knee) who was lost for the season in their win over Indy. While the Texans have been winning but not covering, the Jets have been losing both SU and ATS. They’re just 2-6 SU/2-6 ATS and have lost five straight SU/ATS after losing on the road in New England last week.
In their last 11 games as the underdog, the Texans are 8-3 ATS, and they are 9-2 SU in their last 11 games vs. the AFC.
The Jets are 7-3 SU/7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 head-to-head meetings between these teams but are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 4-14 ATS in their last 18 overall. They are also just 1-4 SU in their last five games vs. the AFC South.
The over is 4-2 in the last six head-to-head matchups, but the under is 16-6 in the Texans’ last 22 games overall and 6-1 in their last seven.

The Cowboys and Falcons meet in the game with the highest over/under of the week by a wide margin. Dallas has dropped two in a row SU/ATS after losing last week to the 49ers on Sunday Night Football and are 4-4 SU/2-5-1 ATS this season. The Falcons beat the Bucs last week and lead the NFC South at 5-3 SU/4-4 ATS.
Dallas is just 1-5 ATS in its last six games and 2-9 SU/ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog. However, the Cowboys are 4-2 SU in their last six road games.
The Falcons are only 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Sunday home games, but they are 4-1 SU in their last five games overall and 10-5 SU in their last 15 games in Week 9. They have also gone 4-2 ATS in their last six head-to-head meetings with the Cowboys.
The under is 6-1 in the last seven head-to-head meetings between these teams in Atlanta and 5-1 in the Cowboys’ last six games vs. the NFC South. The over is 4-1 in the Falcons’ last five games.

This huge NFC North showdown is the marquee matchup in the late window and will determine who controls the division heading into the second half. The Lions are 6-1 SU/ATS and are currently in first place with the Packers at 6-2 SU/4-3-1 ATS just behind them. The Lions already had their bye week, but the Packers will have theirs in Week 10 after this matchup. If Jordan Love (groin) doesn’t play in this matchup, he’ll have an extra week to recover, although he continues to sound optimistic about his chances of playing.
The Lions are 5-0 SU/ATS over their last five games and 4-1 SU/ATS in their last five head-to-head meetings with the Packers. They are 7-1 ATS in their last eight conference games and 6-0 ATS in their last six road contests. Detroit is also an impressive 12-2 ATS in its last 14 games and 29-8 ATS in its last 37 games overall.
For the home team, the Packers are 28-5 SU in their last 33 games at home vs. the Lions and 6-2 SU/ATS in their last eight as home underdogs. The Packers are also 8-4 ATS in their last 12 games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight vs. the NFC.
The over is 4-2 in the last six meetings between these two teams and 4-1 in the Lions’ last five matchups overall.

Indy is 4-4 SU/7-1 ATS after covering in its loss last week to the Texans. That was the Colts’ sixth straight win ATS, and they are 5-0 ATS in their last five games vs. the Vikings as well. The Colts are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games vs. the NFC North, but they are only 1-5 SU in their last six road games and 2-6 SU in their last eight games on the road in Minnesota.
The Vikings lost SU/ATS to the Rams on Thursday Night Football last week but are still 5-2 SU/ATS in their last seven games. They’re 4-1 SU in their last five vs. the AFC South and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games played in Week 9.

The Chiefs are 7-0 SU/5-2 ATS this season after beating the Raiders last week but failing to cover the spread. The Bucs lost their second consecutive game SU/ATS as they fell to the Falcons.
Tampa Bay is 4-4 SU/ATS and still very much in the playoff hunt. The Bucs are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against the Chiefs and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 road games. However, they are only 2-7 ATS in their last nine Monday Night Football games and lost SU/ATS two weeks ago on Monday vs. the Ravens.
The Chiefs have won 13 straight games dating back to last year, going 10-2-1 ATS. They are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games vs. the NFC and 17-3 SU in their last 20 inter-conference contests. The Chiefs are also 6-0 SU in their last six home games and are 15-1 SU in their last 16 games in November.
The under is 17-5 in the Chiefs’ last 22 home games and 9-2 in their last 11 Monday Night Football matchups. On the other hand, the Bucs have played five straight overs, going above the total by an average of 18.8 points with an average of 64.4 total points per game.
