Here are Garrett Wilson’s current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 5.5 receptions and o/u 62.5 receiving yards. Wilson is +170 to score a touchdown, +1300 to score 2+ touchdowns, and +900 to score the game’s first touchdown.
It has been a majorly disappointing season for the Jets but Garrett Wilson has consistently performed at a high level. His connection with Aaron Rodgers has been one of the lone bright spots for the Jets this season. Over his last four games, Wilson is averaging 7.75 catches and 95.5 receiving yards per game. If the Jets want to win this game, they need Wilson to have a big performance. Rodgers will look to feed Wilson all game. Some people were worried that Davante Adams would replace Garrett Wilson as the Jets’ top receiver but the addition of Davante Adams has actually helped Wilson get more space with defenses needing to respect Adams. Wilson has had his two longest receptions of the season since Adams joined the team.
The Texans’ defense is a solid unit and they have done a good job of tackling, playing team defense, and limiting touchdowns in the red zone. Down-to-down, they haven’t been elite by any means and they don’t have a true #1 corner that can take away the opposing team’s WR1. Here is how top receivers have performed against the Texans this season:
Last week Josh Downs had 109 yards and a touchdown for the Colts; Romeo Doubs had eight catches for 84 yards for the Packers; Demario Douglas had 92 yards and a touchdown for the Patriots; Brian Thomas Jr. had 86 yards and a touchdown for the Jaguars; Justin Jefferson had 81 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings; and Alec Pierce had 125 yards and a touchdown in the first game against the Colts.
In six out of eight games for the Texans, the opposing team has had a receiver go over 80 receiving yards. In five of those six games, that same receiver has also scored a touchdown. Garrett Wilson’s target share has not really been affected by the addition of Davante Adams and he should have another big game for the Jets. I am betting on him to go over his receiving prop of 62.5 yards and to score a touchdown at +170.
