The center is now averaging 32.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game this season. However, with Denver right back in action Tuesday and playing their second game in two nights, Jokic’s numbers should decline. When playing with no rest in his favor last season, Jokic’s averages dropped 3.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game. Those are notable declines and it’s hard to imagine the center isn’t sluggish after logging a season-high 43 minutes in Monday’s overtime thriller in Toronto. For the past five occasions Jokic has exceeded 40 minutes of action, he averages 44 PRA per game in his following start.
Furthermore, Jokic is in a subpar matchup vs. the Nets, who rank 20th in pace and 15th in defensive efficiency. Brooklyn limited the Bucks to 102 points on Sunday and when Jokic last faced the Nets, he came up just short of surpassing his combo line for Tuesday, with 49 PRA.
While it’s difficult betting against Jokic, this line is simply too high for the big man on the second leg of a back-to-back and taking this under is the right call.
