The NBA’s Tuesday night schedule offers four games, highlighted by intriguing matchups across the league. With the Nuggets visiting the Nets, the Mavericks taking on the Timberwolves, and the Kings facing the Jazz, bettors have several compelling options to consider. Mavericks +5.0 (-110)
The Mavericks enter Tuesday’s matchup against the Timberwolves as +5.0 underdogs after a 110-102 victory over Utah, where Kyrie Irving led with 23 points and nine assists. Dallas saw a well-rounded effort, with six players scoring in double figures, to help overcome Luka Doncic’s off-shooting night (5-for-22). His 15 points, nine rebounds and eight assists kept the Mavericks steady alongside Klay Thompson and Spencer Dinwiddie, who added key three-pointers late in the third quarter to secure the lead.
Minnesota, meanwhile, is looking to avenge its playoff loss to Dallas last season, led by Anthony Edwards, who’s averaging 27.7 points per game. The Timberwolves’ improved depth and early-season success make them formidable at home. Yet, Dallas’ balanced attack and Doncic’s history against Minnesota — he averaged 32.4 points in last season’s playoff series — position the Mavericks well to cover the +5.0 spread.
Kings -6.5 (-115)
The Kings are well-positioned to cover the -6.5 spread against the winless Jazz. Sacramento is coming off a 111-98 win over Portland, with De’Aaron Fox surpassing 10,000 career points and DeMar DeRozan continuing his scoring consistency, averaging over 23 points per game. Domantas Sabonis adds to the Kings’ depth, contributing a 16-point, 13-rebound game following a triple-double against the Lakers.
Meanwhile, Utah faces a quick turnaround on the second night of a back-to-back after a 110-102 loss in Dallas, compounded by a significant injury to Taylor Hendricks. The Jazz, who suffered a 127-86 blowout against Golden State and an 0-3 start, haven’t found a consistent offensive rhythm. With Sacramento seeking its fifth straight win over Utah, the Kings’ scoring depth and momentum should help them cover the -6.5 spread against a fatigued Jazz squad.
Warriors +1.5 (-110)
The Warriors host the Pelicans on Tuesday night, starting a back-to-back series with both teams looking to rebound from recent losses. Golden State, despite playing without Stephen Curry (ankle) and De’Anthony Melton (back), stayed competitive in a 114-106 loss to the Clippers, led by Andrew Wiggins’ 29 points. Second-year guard Brandin Podziemski is expected to take on additional playmaking duties, and the Warriors are poised to lean on their depth and versatility, particularly in front of a home crowd at Chase Center.
The Pelicans, meanwhile, are adjusting without lead guard Dejounte Murray, who is out with a hand injury. New Orleans’ smaller lineup, featuring 6’8 Daniel Theis at center and Zion Williamson at power forward, may struggle to control the boards against the Warriors’ active frontcourt. Golden State’s defensive discipline and ability to force turnovers could give it the edge it needs, and with Wiggins and the Warriors’ bench stepping up, they’re well-suited to cover the +1.5 spread in this matchup.
Jamal Murray Over 19.5 Points (-125)
Jamal Murray has averaged 17.0 points through Denver’s first three games, slightly trailing his 2023-24 average of 21.2 points per game. Tuesday’s matchup, however, presents a favorable opportunity for Murray to break out, facing a short-handed Nets lineup missing Ben Simmons (back), Bojan Bogdanovic (foot), Trendon Watford (hamstring) and Day’Ron Sharpe (hamstring).
Brooklyn has leaned on its own scoring duo of Cam Thomas and Dennis Schroder, who combined for 61 points in Sunday’s win over Milwaukee. Murray’s history against the Nets, including a 24.0-point average in two games last season, makes this Over line appealing. The Nuggets’ reliance on starters Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon in Monday’s overtime win over Toronto could mean increased scoring responsibilities for Murray against a Nets defense with limited depth.
Jordan Hawkins Over 12.5 Points (-105)
Jordan Hawkins has emerged as a key scoring option for New Orleans early this season, averaging 18.0 points and 6.3 rebounds across three games. Selected 14th in the 2023 draft, Hawkins saw limited scoring opportunities as a rookie, averaging 7.8 points per game, but he has since stepped up as the Pelicans lean on him for offensive production amid injuries. He started strong in the season opener with 13 points and seven rebounds, followed by 24 and 17 points in his last two games, most recently logging a season-high 34 minutes .
Hawkins has also been productive against the Warriors in prior matchups, scoring 14 points twice against Golden State last season. With Stephen Curry (ankle) and De’Anthony Melton (back) sidelined, Golden State’s depth will be tested defensively. Add in the Warriors’ third-ranked pace, and Hawkins should have plenty of scoring chances, giving strong value to the bet on him to exceed 12.5 points at -105.
