Top five fantasy basketball streamers for NBA Week 2

Time moves quickly when you’re having fun, huh? Week one of the NBA is officially in the books. We’re rolling over the Five Lists of Five into the NBA landscape to provide your weekly dose of fantasy tips.

Here are some streamers we can already start considering. Some have good schedules. Some have good situations. Some are just good players!

Stream ’em

PJ Washington, PF, Dallas Mavericks

There’s a chance, albeit small, that Washington is actually available in your leagues. Go get him. He has an excellent schedule this week with quality games on Tuesday and Thursday (low volume days) so that you can bloat that games played number and stuff your team’s stat sheet with more numbers. What’s not to like about that? Additionally, Washington has held onto a large role within the Dallas offense after the first two games of the season, attempting 10+ shots in both games thus far while averaging about 30 minutes per game. The percentages haven’t been pretty, but if he’s available, he should probably be on a roster somewhere, especially this week.

Jordan Clarkson, PG, Utah Jazz

You’ll have a little more luck finding Jordan Clarkson on your waiver wire. Clarkson is only averaging 25 minutes per game this season, but in typical Clarkson fashion, he’s making the most of it and taking plenty of shots. Like the Mavericks, the Jazz have a good schedule this week and allow managers to sprinkle a bit more onto their point and threes tally on the low-volume days without taking games away from your studs on the high-volume days.

Jordan Hawkins, SG, New Orleans Pelicans

I wrote about Hawkins as a potential option here last week regarding how managers can replace Dejounte Murray following his disastrous opening night hand injury, sidelining him for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. In the games following, Hawkins has put up 17 and 24 points, respectively on good percentages and low turnovers. Hawkins has failed to record a steal or a block in both of these games, but he’s still going to be an excellent source of points and threes while Murray is sidelined. His schedule isn’t quite as good as the Jazz’s or the Mavericks’ this week, but he’s still worth a pickup.

Moses Moody, SG, Golden State Warriors

Steph Curry injured his ankle last night and attempted to come back into the game but ultimately couldn’t. It’s still unclear whether Curry can return to action soon, but you’d have to imagine the Warriors will err on the side of caution when it comes to the health of their aging superstar. Moody should be in line for more minutes and could be a nice pickup while we wait for news on Steph. If anybody’s gotten impatient and dropped Brandin Podziemski in your league, now could be a good time to go get him, too.

Kelly Oubre, SG, Philadelphia 76ers

Oubre has been receiving monster minutes in Paul George’s absence. In the three games he’s playing for Philly since this season started, Oubre has been averaging close to 18 shots per game. When he gets this many minutes, Oubre is an excellent place to find some steals, points, and threes. The percentages will be rocky, but the opportunity is there. This is a low-priority add since the 6’ers will only play two games this week, but with so much uncertainty surrounding Paul George and Joel Embiid’s health, it’s best to get ahead of the curve, here.
