Opening odds for Week 9 of the NFL on DraftKings Sportsbook

Opening odds for Week 9 of the NFL on DraftKings Sportsbook

By: Stan Son

NFL Week 8 is almost in the books, pending Monday night’s matchup, but the opening odds for Week 9 are up on DraftKings Sportsbook and it’s time to give a lookey-loo.

The London games are no more. Whew, but those pesky byes are back. The Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers get the extra nap time.

On Thursday night, the Houston Texans travel to New York to face the Jets. Houston, it’s all good here but the turbulence is getting out of hand in New York. Send help. Love, Aaron.

The early Sunday slate consists of eight games. There are two three teams favored by at least a touchdown while three games are within a field goal. The late-afternoon slate consists of four games. Two of the games have one-point spreads. The night game pits the Indianapolis Colts riding into Minnesota to face off against the Vikings, but which quarterback will be spinning the pigskin?

Monday Night Football has Baker Mayfield without his most-trusted sous chefs trying to cook up offense against the Chiefs in Kansas City.

Here’s the full list of Week 9 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. We will update throughout the week.

Thursday Night Football, October 31st

Jets vs. Texans

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
HOU Texans+1 -110O 42 -112-102
NY Jets-1 -110U 42 -108-118

Whatever deal the Texans made with the Devil last season, the Red Horned One is collecting payment this season, with interest. After losing Nico Collins to injury, Stefon Diggs was lost last week. Sad face for C.J. Stroud, as he has to face a still-daunting defense in the Jets. That said, a couple of field goals may be enough for victory as the Jets have been a clown show, dropping their last five games.

Sunday Early Games, November 3rd

Falcons vs. Cowboys

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
DAL Cowboys+2.5 -105O 52 -108+120
ATL Falcons-2.5 -115U 52 -112-142

This is the only game of the weekend with a total over 50 points. Atlanta has scored over 30 points in three of the last four games, winning all of those contests. After notching close wins over the Giants and Steelers while scoring 20 points, any semblance of positive vibes and confidence were kicked straight out of their stomachs as the Lions pasted them 47-9 and the 49ers were dominating before getting the 30-24 win. I guess this is more of a barometer for the Falcons.

Bills vs. Dolphins

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
MIA Dolphins+6.5 -115O 49 -110+230
BUF Bills-6.5 -105U 49 -110-285

Tua for MVP! Even though the Dolphins lost last week, the offense looked functional after looking like a team in the Snoop Youth Football League. Unfortunately, the Bills are not a good matchup for the Dolphins. In his last two meetings, which includes a January game from last season, Tua has thrown for 173 and 145 yards with a total of two touchdowns and five interceptions.

Bengals vs. Raiders

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
LV Raiders+7.5 -108O 45.5 -108+310
CIN Bengals-7.5 -112U 45.5 -112-395

After splitting the first four games of the season, the Raiders have dropped four straight and are now scouting the 2025 NFL Draft quarterback class. The Bengals have three wins on the season, over the Panthers, Giants and Browns. Good thing the Raiders are not a good team.

Browns vs. Chargers

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
LA Chargers-2 -110O 42 -112-125
CLE Browns+2 -110U 42 -108+105

Jameis Winston is back in our lives! On the field, he will be cooking up finger-licking goodness, for both his team and the opponent. Regardless, he opens the paths to fantasy goodness. Unfortunately, this week’s opponent is the Chargers, who prefer to turtle up and only peep out and snap a few times a game.

Titans vs. Patriots

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
NE Patriots+3 -102O 38 -108+142
TEN Titans-3 -118U 38 -112-170

Drake Maye has infused rays of sunlight into the dark, musty cavern where Patriots fans have been curled up, but they are still devoid of talent to legitimately compete. Unfortunately, he suffered a concussion in Week 8 and left the game early. The Titans have a sneaky good defense and Jacoby Brissett could be under center. Gross.

Giants vs. Commanders

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
WAS Commanders-3.5 -105O 43 -110-175
NY Giants+3.5 -115U 43 -110+145

The Giants are on a short week, as they are playing Monday night. The New York organization must be looking at Jayden Daniels, then look at Daniel Jones, then shake their collective heads and murmur, “Why did we pay so much for Temu Daniels?” Washington is flying high after its miracle win in Week 8. Is this a letdown spot for them?

Panthers vs. Saints

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
NO Saints-7 -110O 45 -108-325
CAR Panthers+7 -110U 45 -112+260

The moveable object versus the stoppable force. After winning their first two games in dominating fashion, the Saints have lost six in a row. Spencer Rattler has started the last three games but Derek Carr could return. The Panthers have won one game on the season, and there’s a good chance they stay at one the rest of the season. Will Andy Dalton or Bryce Young be under center for this one?

Ravens vs. Broncos

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
DEN Broncos+9 -110O 44.5 -112+340
BAL Ravens-9 -110U 44.5 -108-440

The Broncos are bucking wildly at the moment, having won their last two and five of six. The last two have been over the Saints and Panthers, though, but Bo Nix has shown some things, both with his arm and legs. The Ravens present a completely different test, though, as they are one of the best and most physical teams in the league, but the Broncos’ defense is one of the best as well. If Denver can win this one, then we will have to do more than just say hmm.

Sunday Late Afternoon Games

Eagles vs. Jaguars

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
JAX Jaguars+7.5 -122O 45.5 -110+275
PHI Eagles-7.5 +102U 45.5 -110-345

The Eagles have won three straight and are starting to hum, but those victories were over the Browns, Giants and Bengals. Good thing for them that the Jags are in the same bucket as those teams. The Jags lost their first four games and have split their last four. Progress! They have talent and firepower on offense, but the deficiences on defense are too much to overcome.

Cardinals vs. Bears

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
CHI Bears+1 -115O 44.5 -110-108
ARI Cardinals-1 -105U 44.5 -110-112

It looked like Chicago was gelling and poised to make a run, having won three straight before the bye, but they could only score 15 points in Washington and lost in heartbreaking fashion on a Hail Mary. How will they respond to that? And to be fair, the Commanders have been playing good defense recently. The Cardinals have not, which should provide a nice reprieve for Caleb Williams. Arizona has won three of four, with decent wins over the 49ers, Chargers and Dolphins. The Bears have a good defense, so this should be an interesting game.

Packers vs. Lions

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
DET Lions-3.5 -105O 47.5 -108-170
GB Packers+3.5 -115U 47.5 -112+142

The Lions have only one loss on the season and have one of the most potent and balanced offenses in the league. The defense hasn’t been dominant, though, especially after losing Aidan Hutchinson. The big story, though, is the health of Jordan Love, who suffered a groin injury in Week 8. An MRI showed no significant damage but his status is up in the air at the moment. The lines seem to indicate that he will play, though.

Seahawks vs. Rams

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
LA Rams-1 -108O 48.5 -110-112
SEA Seahawks+1 -112U 48.5 -110-108

The Rams have won two in a row coming out of their bye. The most important thing is that they are getting healthy, as Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have returned to action. The Seahawks just got humbled at home by the Bills, which probably isn’t something to be ashamed of. The Seahawks and Rams obviously know each other well and the spread reflects that.

Sunday Night Game

Vikings vs. Colts

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
IND Colts+6 -112O 45.5 -108+215
MIN Vikings-6 -108U 45.5 -112-265

After winning thier first five games, the Vikings have dropped two straight out of their bye. Those losses were to the Lions (no shame in that) and the Rams, who have Kupp and Nacua back. The key aspect for this game, though, is who is quarterbacking the Colts. After the Week 8 game, Shane Steichen did not commit to Anthony Richardson for Week 9. The Vikings blitz at the highest rate in the league and Richardson was blitzed over 60% in Week 8. He’s raw and still learning the position, so reps are needed. If Steichen decides to go with Joe Flacco, that changes the dynamic of the Colts offense and this game.

Monday Night Game, November 4th

Chiefs vs. Buccaneers

Odds on Sunday, October 28

SpreadTotalMoneyline
TB Buccaneers+8.5 -112O 44.5 -112+350
KC Chiefs-8.5 -108U 44.5 -108-455

The Chiefs are undefeated, primarily due to their defense! Tampa Bay hobbles into Kansas City without Mike Evans or Chris Godwin. Ruh roh.
