Here’s a look at some of the top betting picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Monday, October 28.
Celtics -9.5 (-112)
Boston is a 9.5-point favorite against Milwaukee. With a high-powered offense and a significant rhythm right now, the Celtics are averaging 126 points per game. Entering Monday’s matchup, the Bucks’ bad losses have already begun to pile up. They lost by a 13-point margin against the Nets and an 11-point margin against the Bulls.
Given how the Bucks have struggled on both ends to begin the season, it’s an unfortunate time for them to encounter a well-oiled machine like the Celtics.
Trae Young Over 26.5 Points (-125)
After dealing with the tough Thunder defense in his last matchup, Trae Young will have a much simpler outing against the Wizards on Monday. He still scored 24 points against Oklahoma City, but had 38 points against the Hornets and dropped 30 on the Nets in his two prior games.
Against another rebuilding team like the Wizards, Young appears to have a solid outlook for hitting the over for 26.5 points. Atlanta’s offense relies heavily on him, so unless he has a bad shooting night, there appears to be a strong outlook for him to produce a high-volume scoring night.
Cavaliers +2.5 (-108)
The Cavaliers enter Monday’s game against the Knicks coming off three double-digit wins against underwhelming opponents. Meanwhile, the Knicks were blown out by 23 against the Celtics on opening night but bounced back to defeat the Pacers by 35 in their last outing. This should be a competitive one.
The Knicks are 2.5-point favorites at -112, but the Cavaliers appear to have an opportunity to take advantage of their continuity against an opponent that continues to integrate new players like Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges.
Luka Doncic Over 3.5 Threes (-105)
Luka Doncic is off to a dynamic start to his regular season campaign. He’s averaged 34 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists through two performances, with an average of 4.5 made threes per game. There appears to be an opportunity to capitalize on over 3.5 made threes at -105 against the Jazz.
The first two opponents the Mavericks faced deployed more traditional drop coverage pick-and-roll defensive schemes, emphasizing neutralization of lobs and favorable finishes for Doncic. Given how challenging it’s been for players outside of Klay Thompson to convert from the perimeter consistently in the Mavericks’ offense, Doncic is more compelled to take step-back threes when the defense packs the paint. With Walker Kessler at center for the Jazz, this is a favorable set of circumstances to bet the over.
Suns -4 (-112)
The Lakers and Suns recently faced off in Los Angeles, with the Lakers winning 123-116. Now, with the game being played at Phoenix’s Footprint Center, the Suns will benefit from playing on their home court. The Suns, at -4, appear to be a strong option, especially coming off a 12-point victory against the Mavericks.
It remains to be seen if Bradley Beal will play after missing the game against Dallas due to an elbow injury. However, there is reason for confidence in Phoenix, regardless of whether Beal plays.
