Giannis Antetokounmpo best prop bets for Bucks at Nets

The 2024-25 NBA season is off to the races and Giannis Antetokounmpo has picked up right where he left off. The two-time MVP is averaging 31.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists through the opening two games of the season.

The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a 1-1 start to the season and will be facing the Brooklyn Nets. The Bucks are favored by 8.5 points in the matchup with the Nets listed as +295 underdogs on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Here are the best Giannis Antetokounmpo prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook:

Giannis Antetokounmpo Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

DraftKings Sportsbook has set Antetokounmpo’s prop lines across points (30.5), rebounds (11.5), assists (6.5) and blocks (0.5). Here are the top betting options to consider:

Over 30.5 Points (-115): The point line for Giannis Antetokounmpo is set at 30.5 with the odds sitting at -115 for both the over and under. He was held to 25 points in the season-opener against the Philadelphia 76ers but exploded for 38 points against the Chicago Bulls. Giannis averaged 30.4 points per game last season and 31.1 points per game the season prior.

The Brooklyn Nets are not among the top NBA teams (an understatement) and will have difficulty matching Antetokounmpo’s size and physicality. Ben Simmons and Nic Claxton will likely be tasked as the primary defenders. While both are very good defenders, neither have quite the level of physicality that Giannis commands. The biggest concern for him reaching the total would be for this game to be a blowout and the superstar’s minutes to be limited.

Over 11.5 Rebounds (-120): The rebounding prop for the Greek Freak is set at 11.5 with the under favored at -120 odds. Antetokounmpo tallied 14 rebounds in the season opener and 11 in the second game. He also averaged 11.5 rebounds last season, 11.8 the season before and has averaged as many as 13.6 in a season.

Over 6.5 Assists (+114): The assist line for Antetokounmpo is set at 6.5 with the under favored at -145 odds. He tallied seven assists in the opening game and five against the Bulls. The eight-time All-Star averaged 6.5 assists per game last season, which was a career-high for him.

Most concerning with getting a read on the assist total is it is heavily impacted by how Giannis is defended. The Bucks are at their best when he is actively attacking the paint, with these assists being generated when kicking out to shooters on the perimeter. If the offense fully hits its stride, it involves Antetokounmpo being utilized heavily as a playmaker, but this is more game script-dependent than is ideal.

Over 0.5 Blocks (-180): While his offensive stats often steal the spotlight, Antetokounmpo is a five-time All-Defensive team member and former Defensive Player of the Year for a reason. The over of 0.5 blocks is favored at -180 odds while the under sits at +140 odds. Antetokounmpo has tallied just one block so far this season but has averaged as many as 1.9 per game during his career. This is my favorite of the Antetokounmpo prop bets for today’s matchup.

Futures Outlook: The season-long impact of Giannis is also one to monitor. He has an impressive resume already, which includes two MVPs, one DPOY, one Most Improved Award, a Finals MVP and eight All-Star appearances. Antetokounmpo is not finished yet and holds the sixth-best odds to win MVP at +1400 odds. He also is 10th in Defensive Player of the Year odds at +5000.

Looking at the Bucks as a team, Milwaukee holds -1600 odds to make the playoffs, +750 odds to win the Eastern Conference and +1600 odds to win the championship- the eighth-best odds.
