The series flips coasts on Monday. The Yankees are hoping to flip the script. They’re in an 0-2 hole but they’re home. Will the Bronx Bombers get out the bats? Will the Dodgers stars wake up? Offensive fantasy baseball points are not easy against World Series pitching. Check out the DraftKings MLB DFS Picks for Game 3 of the World Series.

SHOWDOWN STRATEGY

Captain’s Pick

Freddie Freeman ($10,500): This is the leading candidate for World Series MVP. Freeman lacked power in the NLDS and NLCS. He found it on baseball’s biggest stage. He hit a walk-off grand slam in Game 1. He followed with another decisive homer in Game 2. Yankee Stadium favors power hitters and Freeman is locked in. Lock him in.

UTIL Plays

Tommy Edman ($6,800): MLB always features surprise postseason stars. Edman is the unlikely hero in 2024. He did nothing for the Dodgers in the regular season. He’s done everything in the postseason. He leads the league in hits (19). His heater has extended in the World Series. Edman had two hits in Game 1 and 2. He homered on Saturday.

Juan Soto ($9,800): The Yankees are down two games but that’s not Soto’s fault. He’s carried the team throughout the playoffs. Soto leads MLB with a 1.160 postseason OPS. He’s homered three times in the last four games and has seven hits over that span. Home runs make or break these slates. Soto is hitting them.

Clarke Schmidt ($11,200): Postseason pitching is tricky. With the day off on Sunday and a week of rest, the bullpens are ready. The managers are ready with the quick hook. Aaron Boone has a longer leash than Dave Roberts. Schmidt has been a better pitcher than Walker Buehler ($10,400). The Dodgers’ starter hasn’t been the same in his first season following his Tommy John surgery. Schmidt has been serviceable but not great. However, he’s getting innings. The opportunity is there.

Fades

Aaron Judge ($9,400): Can the AL MVP turn it around? Will a return to New York wake up Judge’s bat? He’s played five straight road games. The scenery could have something to do with the slump. It could simply be playoff pressure. The pressure only increases with every game. After back-to-back games with homers in the middle of the ALCS, Judge has gone 2-for-17. His postseason average is .150 with a .605 OPS. He’s struck out 13 times in the last five games.

THE OUTCOME

There’s no place like home. The Dodgers had the magic at home in Los Angeles. Will New York City sprinkle the fairy dust on the Yankees’ bats? The Yankees’ modern Murders’ Row should blast Buehler in Game 3.

Final Score: Yankees 6, Dodgers 3
