The Thunder are finishing a back-to-back on Sunday night in their home opener. They started the season with comfortable road wins over the Nuggets and Bulls, but face a tough test on Sunday as they welcome the Atlanta Hawks, who have also started 2-0.
One key contributor in each of the Thunder’s first two wins of the year has been second-year big man Chet Holmgren ($7,700), who looks like he may be ready to take a second-year leap make the young Thunder an even bigger factor in the Western Conference.
In this matchup, OKC is a 10.5-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, and the game total is 230, the highest on the slate this Sunday. While Holmgren is definitely a solid play at PF or C in DFS contests like the NBA $150K Fadeaway [$50K to 1st], there are also a few props that you can check out to back the big man in this matchup.
Best Chet Holmgren Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Chet Holmgren over 10.5 rebounds (-105)
Holmgren is -160 to record a double-double but this gives better odds for, really, just one more rebound. Holmgren averaged 7.9 rebounds last year in his 82 regular season games, but he has been much more active on the glass in his first two contests this year.
He had 14 boards in 36 minutes against Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets in the season opener, but even more impressively, he pulled down 16 rebounds in just 29 minutes on Friday against the Bulls. That sets a new career-high for him in rebounds, and he seems to be ready to get much better numbers on the boards this year.
If he plays his usual minutes, getting to 11 rebounds shoul be very doable for him at almost even money.
Chet Holmgren under 1.5 3PM (+105)
Even though Holmgren has been hot to start the year, he has not made any three-point shots. He’s 0-for-10 in his two games combined. If you think this game does get lopsided as the spread indicates and Holmgren plays fewer minutes, this is a nice price to take the under.
Even if he makes his first three-pointer of the season, as long as he doesn’t hit two, this prop will still hit. It is worth noting that he averaged 1.6 three-pointers per game last year, but this still seems like a good number to target in this matchup.
Chet Holmgren under 2.5 blocks (+105)
I love Holmgren as a DFS play and would love to back the over on his points and combos, but the better options on Sunday night are the unders. Holmgren averaged 2.3 blocks last season and had multiple blocks in each of his first two games.
He had four blocks against Jokic and the Nuggets in the opener but only had two blocks on Saturday. The Hawks don’t usually rely much on their interior scorers, so he may not have as many block opportunities on Sunday against Atlanta.
Last year against the Hawks, he had three blocks and no blocks in their two head-to-head games.
While he has the potential to go off with 3+ blocks, getting the under at +105 is a very strong prop play for this matchup, especially if the Thunder break away early.
