KaVontae Turpin ($4,800)
It’s been an unconventional path, but KaVontae Turpin is ready to be an all-around weapon in the NFL. From a spring league to Poland, the Louisianna native did everything he could to chase his dreams. His stint in Dallas started in 2022 as an electrifying special teams returner. His 5’9″ stature and track-star speed make him a blur on television, but he’s now trying to expand his role to help this struggling passing attack.
With Brandin Cooks on the shelf, Dallas sorely lacks complimentary pass catchers outside their stars, CeeDee Lamb ($10,600) and Jake Ferguson ($6,800). Turpin has the lateral quickness to rack up yards after the catch. If offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer can get him the rock in space, Turpin can stretch defenses from sideline to sideline while pulling attention away from Lamb.
The production has been brewing in recent weeks. Turpin’s coming off five and seven target outings, including 50 yards against the vaunted Pittsburgh defense. He’s one massive play from DFS relevance and has the acclaim to get a screen or end around near the red zone.
Jacob Cowing ($4,000)
San Francisco is running out of players to run routes. After their latest cavalcade of injuries, rookie Jacob Cowing will see the field consistently. The fourth-round pick out of Arizona was a standout during his time in Tuscon, helping elevate the Wildcats back to national relevance.
Cowings is a burner, but he did most of his damage from the slot. He has elite footwork and can create ample separation. Despite being “smaller” for the position, he isn’t afraid to go over the middle and put his body on the line to corral a reception.
Last weekend was his first time seeing action at receiver, where he snagged a pair for 50 receiving yards. He’s likely third or fourth on the pecking order but has enough talent to earn an uptick in snap count regardless. Against one of the worst secondaries in the game, Cowings has a feasible chance to get loose and leave his mark on the contest.
