Week 8 of the NFL season has arrived! The fantasy tight end landscape is in a state of constant flux, so it’s time to take a deeper dive into that position.
Let’s break down my Week 8 start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football TE picks.
Start ‘Em: Mark Andrews (Ravens) at Browns
He’s baaaaaaaaack.
I’m not sure I’ve seen a fantasy tight end go from bonafide star, to droppable, back to fantasy-relevant as quickly as Andrews has this year. After an abysmal start to the 2024/25 campaign, the veteran got back on track in Week 5 and has been stellar ever since. Andrews’ target share still isn’t ideal, but he’s certainly made the most of his opportunities, racking up at least 15 PPR points in back-to-back games with a combined three touchdowns.
The Browns are a tough matchup for tight ends, but Andrews has re-established himself as Lamar Jackson’s go-to end zone threat, and he’s a worthy start this week.
Sit ‘Em: Colby Parkinson (Rams) vs. Vikings — THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
In Weeks 4 and 5, Parkinson saw a whopping 20 combined targets. In L.A.’s last matchup against the Raiders, that number dropped all the way to two, which is concerning considering how close that game was.
With Cooper Kupp likely returning for this contest, Parkinson’s once-prominent role may be diminished to an afterthought for Matthew Stafford. The Vikings are fresh off a matchup with Detroit in which they held Sam LaPorta to *checks notes* -4 yards. Parkinson is a touchdown-or-bust option for this game, which is not the path I’d recommend taking with other viable tight end options out there.

Start ‘Em: Kyle Pitts (Falcons) at Buccaneers
Don’t look now, but Kyle Pitts isn’t fantasy relevant… he’s a legitimately strong option this week.
After a slow start to the season, the fourth-year tight end has racked up a combined 39.3 fantasy points over his last three games, seeing 22 targets over that stretch. As Kirk Cousins has shaken off the rust, he and Pitts have established a formidable rapport.
The 24-year-old’s positive momentum should carry over into this crucial divisional matchup with Tampa Bay. Fire him up as a low-end TE1.
Sit ‘Em: Tyler Conklin (Jets) at Patriots
After a few weeks of outperforming expectations, I think Conklin will finally fall victim to the Jets simply having too many weapons.
Davante Adams, Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard are definitively ahead of him on Aaron Rodgers’ pecking order. Breece Hall is consistently involved in the passing game. There’s only one ball to go around.
Conklin did find the end zone last week, but he managed just four receptions for a grand total of… seven yards. It’s touchdown or bust for the veteran this week, and that’s not a game I want to play with better options out there.
