Sabonis averaged well over this line last season with 41.2 PRA per game. While the arrival of DeMar DeRozan in Sacramento may hurt some Kings’ players’ numbers, Sabonis looks like a player who could benefit. During the preseason, the big man led Sacramento with a 27% usage rate, which is a big jump from the 22% usage he handled last season. In the Kings’ second-to-last preseason game, which they used as a rehearsal for the regular season with Sabonis, DeRozan, De’Aaron Fox, and Keegan Murray all logging at least 36 minutes, Sabonis finished with 29 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists vs. the Jazz.
To kick off the regular season, Sabonis and the Kings are hosting the Timberwolves on Thursday. Rudy Gobert is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, but that shouldn’t stop us from attacking this Sabonis over.
