The 2024-25 NBA season is finally here! The Phoenix Suns open their campaign with a road matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com Arena, Oct. 23.
Suns star Kevin Durant averaged 27.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists last season. He made his 14th NBA All-Star team and earned All-NBA Second Team honors, as well.

Durant is, of course, one of the greatest scorers in NBA history — if not the best ever. Sure, he recently turned 36, but the Slim Reaper’s smooth bucket-getting game is aging with grace thus far. There’s no reason to think he’ll fall off yet. In fact, quite the opposite.
In three games against the Clippers last season, Durant averaged 25.0 points to go along with 6.0 boards and 2.3 assists. Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is out of the lineup to start the season due to injury, and Paul George is no longer on the team after an offseason move to Philadelphia. In short, Los Angeles’ defense will probably suffer compared to last season, and aside from James Harden, they don’t have much top-end talent to compete with the Suns’ trio of Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
This is a game which could get out of hand quickly behind the high-scoring talents of Durant and the Suns. The over on Durant’s 24.5 points line is set at -120, but an alt line of 30+ points is available at +230 value. We know how quickly KD can catch fire, and against what should be a soft Clippers defense, why not take a swing to open the season?
