Julius Randle best prop bets for Timberwolves vs. Lakers

Julius Randle best prop bets for Timberwolves vs. Lakers

Updated:

By: Ryan Wohl

Tuesday night, Julius Randle makes his debut for the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the second and final game of NBA opening night, the Timberwolves will play the Lakers in Los Angeles at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Randle missed the playoffs last season due to a shoulder injury and wasn’t a part of the magical New York Knicks run. But when Randle was healthy in the regular season in 2023-24, he still played at a high level. Randle averaged 24 points, 9.2 rebounds, and five assists while shooting 47 percent from the field. He has been an NBA All-Star in three of the previous four seasons. Randle is +550 to be named an All-Star this season in the Western Conference on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Here are player props for Julius Randle for the Timberwolves’ first game of the season against the Lakers.

Best Julius Randle Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

The lines for Randle against the Lakers are currently 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.5 three-pointers. Randle only played 46 games last year, the fewest games he has played since his rookie season. Besides last season, Randle was reliable during his Knicks tenure, playing in at least 64 games in the previous five seasons.

When Randle is on the floor, he is a very consistent scorer. Last season, of the 46 games Randle played, he scored over 18.5 points 36 times. His over-for-points is set at -105 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Karl Anthony-Towns averaged 21.8 points a season ago and was Minnesota’s No. 2 leading scorer behind Anthony Edwards. With KAT in New York, Randle will see an increased role with the Timberwolves.

Randle has been a great rebounder and will now play with one of the best rebounders in the league. Rudy Gobert and Randle will be an elite rebounding duo. Randle’s rebounds per game could decrease this season, but the over/under of 7.5 for the first game is still too low. Randle had more than 7.5 rebounds 29 times last season. You can get Randle’s over for rebounds at +100, which is incredible value for a rebounder of his caliber.

Although Randle shot 31 percent from deep last season, he is still a willing shooter. He hit at least two three-pointers in a game 26 times last season and is +105 on DraftKings Sportsbook to make over 1.5 three-pointers against the Lakers. Getting him at that price is a good bet. It is still unknown how Randle will fit into this new Timberwolves offense, but it shouldn’t take the veteran long to fit in.
