George Pickens is a fantasy WR2 with Russell Wilson at QB

George Pickens (22.1 FPTS) had his best fantasy football performance on DraftKings this season last Sunday, and it was no coincidence that it was also Russell Wilson’s first start in the black and yellow. The Steelers beat the Jets 37-15 to improve to 5-2, and Pickens finished the game with five catches, 111 yards and a touchdown for Pittsburgh.

So why should Pickens now be considered a legit WR2 for the rest of the fantasy football season? Pickens received nine targets on SNF, his second most in a game this season. His new quarterback threw for 264 yards in the game, more than Justin Fields threw for in each of the first six games. Wilson also added two touchdown passes, a feat that Fields only managed to do once in the first six games.

The Steelers passing offense has now come to life, and they made things look easy against a Jets secondary that is still second in the league against the pass. Pickens received five more targets than any other Steelers pass catcher, so it’s clear that he will be Wilson’s favorite target moving forward. Pickens is now WR19 on DraftKings, with a total of 88.4 FPTS on the season. He was already a solid WR2/Flex option, but with the addition of Russ into this Steelers offense, he should now be considered an elite WR2.
