Will Tua Tagovailoa play in NFL Week 8?

After missing four straight games with a concussion, Tagovailoa ($6,100) is nearing a return. The Dolphins have designated the quarterback to return from injured reserve and while Tagovailoa still needs to pass through concussion protocol, he is “tracking” to return Sunday vs. the Cardinals, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Miami’s offense has fallen off a cliff with Tagovailoa sidelined, averaging only 10 PPG and if he returns, it will be huge news for the team. Before suffering the concussion in Week 2, Tagovailoa was averaging a strong 7.8 yards per pass across his first two starts of the season. Furthermore, he threw for 29 touchdowns and a league-high 4,624 passing yards last season. Overall, Tagovailoa produced an efficient 0.46 FPTS per dropback over the last two seasons.

Tagovailoa’s return will specifically be massive for both Tyreek Hill ($7,000) and Jayden Waddle ($5,400), who have struggled mightily with their quarterback sidelined. With Tagovailoa only available for two of the Dolphins’ six games this season, Hill and Waddle rank outside the top-40 in FPTS among receivers. Last season, Hill finished second and Waddle finished 31st in the category with Tagovailoa missing no games.

The Dolphins draw a terrific matchup vs. the Cardinals on Sunday, who are allowing the second-most yards per pass (7.8) and if Tagovailoa is under center, the quarterback, Hill and Waddle will all be compelling options for season-long and DFS.

With Tagovailoa trending towards returning, the Dolphins are a three-point favorite over Arizona and this game carries a high total of 47.5 points on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
