Tank Bigsby & the Jaguars and Drake Maye & the Patriots get Sunday’s Week 7 started early with a morning kickoff from Wembley Stadium, where the NFL’s first game in the International Series was held back in 2007. The Jaguars are six-point favorites as they play in London for the second week in a row, and the over/under is set at 42 points. If you’re putting your lineup together for a fun start to Sunday, Demario Douglas ($12,000 as Captain’s Pick) is my top option to build around.
Analysis
Douglas is only the eighth-most expensive option on the board but is trending the right direction after a slow start. He has a good ceiling with Drake Maye ($10,400 in FLEX spot) under center and a beautiful matchup to attack against the Jags.
The sixth-round pick out of Liberty had 49 catches for 561 yards in his rookie season, highlightted by a strong stretch in the middle of the season with 5+ catches in five of six games. He tailed off towards the end of the year as the passing game struggled overall.
This season, he also started slowly. Jacoby Brissett ($6,000) has been unable to generate much fantasy goodness for anyone in the passing game. Douglas did have seven catches and 14.8 fantasy points in Week 3, but only totaled five catches in his other three games.
He started his recent surge, however, in Week 5 against the Dolphins. Douglas passed K.J. Osborn ($1,200) on the depth chart and made the most of his extra chances. He had six catches on nine targets for 59 yards and 11.9 fantasy points in that contest with Miami. Last week, he built on that with six more catches on none more targets for 92 yards, his first NFL touchdown and 21.2 fantasy points.
Douglas’s touchdown came after the game was decided, but he clearly worked as the team’s top receiver and one of Maye’s favorite targets. If he’s in the same role this week, the slot receiver should thrive against the Jaguars, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points in the NFL to wide receivers this season. In six games, they have given up eight wide receiver touchdowns and allowed an average of 192.2 yards per game to the position. Specifically, Jacksonville has been torched by receivers out of the slot.They give up the 12th-most receiving yards per game and the fourth-highest PPR points per target to the position.
Bottom Line
The situation should set up perfectly for Douglas to post a monster game. At this salary, he still leaves plenty of room to stack with Drake Maye and Rhamondre Stevenson ($9,200; foot, questionable). You could mix in Tank Bigsby ($8,800), Christian Kirk ($7,600), Evan Engram ($7,000) from the Jaguars, too. Douglas leaves an average of $7,600 for your FLEX spots, which gives you the whole world of options.
