These are two of the best offenses in the NFL going head-to-head on Monday Night Football. The Ravens are currently 2nd in the league in offensive EPA/play while the Bucs are 6th. They are also both in the top four in the NFL in offensive success rate.
Both teams have good run games and good skill position players but the quarterbacks have carried the load for both teams so far this season. These are the top two quarterbacks in the NFL when measuring by success rate. Effectively, that means that they are the two best quarterbacks at staying ahead of the chains on early downs and converting on third downs.
The defenses have not been nearly as productive as the offenses for either team. The Bucs’ defense is 16th in EPA/play and the normally great Ravens defense is 23rd in EPA/play. The Ravens have had a great secondary the past few seasons but they are struggling this year, ranking 27th in the league in EPA/dropback. The Bucs should be able to throw all over this secondary and mix in their exciting young running backs who have been so good the past couple of weeks.
Lamar Jackson is just 21-31-1 (40.3%) ATS when the Ravens are favored by more than three points. The Ravens have struggled to put teams away this season and have won two games by exactly three points. This should be a back-and-forth shootout that could come down to a field goal in either direction so I am betting the over and the Bucs to cover.
