DraftKings Fantasy Football features two storied NFL franchises in Week 7. The DFS main slate may be in the books, but there is plenty of DFS action available for Sunday Night Football. Check out the NFL Showdown Slate DFS picks for the Week 7 Sunday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Captain’s Picks

Aaron Rodgers ($14,400 CP) — His pass attempts dropped last week but his efficiency increased. His 294 passing yard total in Week 6 is his high watermark of the season. A hail mary will do that. Regardless of the fluke play, the Jets are a passing team and the new offense is gelling. Rodgers and the receivers needed reps. They got them. They got a lot in Week 5 — 54 pass attempts. The addition of Davante Adams only exaggerates the Jets’ willingness to live and die by the sky.

Utility Plays

Allen Lazard ($7,400) — There are plenty of balls to go around. The receiving corps is crowded. The Jets’ cockpit is full but Lazard always gets a turn with the controls. Rodgers has always given Lazard his turn. Lazard has been targeted eight or more times in four of six games this season and each of the last three. Garret Wilson ($9,200) and Davante Adams ($10,000) will be the focus of the Pittsburgh defense on Sunday night. Lazard will get the softest matchup. Rodgers throws to open receivers.

George Pickens ($8,400) — Will Mike Tomlin let Russell Wilson ($9,400) cook? Is Russ dust? Is Russ rusty? One thing is certain — Wilson will wing it. He’s never been afraid to take deep shots. Pickens is the epitome of the deep threat. His 18.1 yards per reception led the NFL in 2023. It won’t be pretty or efficient. This is Pittsburgh. It’s Russell Wilson. Both have a reputation for being a thing of beauty by not being a thing of beauty.

Calvin Austin III ($2,400) — The Justin Fields offense wasn’t great for the Steelers receivers. That’s expected. The Wilson offense might not be much better but there should be an increase in volume. Fields holds the ball. Wilson pulls the trigger. Both can go badly but at least with Wilson, the receivers have a chance. One of the Steelers’ secondary options will emerge on Sunday night. Austin has demonstrated his ability to get open. His plus speed helps. Justin Fields’ lack of vision did not. If the Pickens pick fits the Russell Wilson routine, then Austin could bust one.

Fades

Davante Adams ($10,000) — Fades need to be bold. The goal is to differentiate in an NFL DFS contest with a small player pool. Adams and Rodgers should gel quickly, but this is asking a lot. Adams should know the Nathaniel Hackett offense. They worked together in Green Bay. But are two practices enough? The Pittsburgh defense is too good to let Adams suddenly show up and show out.

THE OUTCOME

The Jets are desperate. They failed to launch. This team has been grounded in 2024. They didn’t get the new coach boost last week. Their boosters are broken and the Steelers look like they’re made of steel. The Jets can pad stats on Sunday Night Football. But what about the stat that matters. The win?

Final Score: Pittsburgh Steelers 24, New York Jets 19
