Huge matchup in the loaded NFC North on Sunday, as the 4-1 Lions travel to the 5-0 Vikings. I think Minnesota can remain perfect here. Let’s break this one down.
Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings

Reality has to catchup to the Vikings at some point. Losses are due, but I don’t think that happens quite yet. The Lions are ultimately the better team here, but Detroit is in a really tough spot, while Minnesota should be extremely prepared for this one.
Detroit has its bye in Week 5, and was extremely well prepared last week in Dallas. The Cowboys look like a pretty poor team this season, but the Lions had a lot to play for in that one. I backed the Lions -3 in that game, as they were in a really good spot, and playing for some revenge off their controversial loss last season in Dallas. That played out, but it also came with a price — Aidan Hutchinson suffered a season-ending leg injury.
Now the Lions have to turnaround after an emotional win and play a red-hot team in the division that’s had plenty of time to prepare. The Vikings last played two weeks ago in England, giving them plenty of time to get over the international travel and prepare for a team they know well. Detroit ranks just 27th in passing yards allowed this season, so I expect Minnesota to have success through the air. The Lions strength has been running the ball this season, and now they’ll face a Vikings defense that has been tremendous stopping the run — allowing just 67.2 rushing yards per game, good for second in the NFL.
Allowing just 15.2 points per game, I expect the Vikings to be ready defensively. This feels like a flat spot for Detroit, while the Vikings should be well prepared at home.
