MVP Favorites

Nikola Jokic remains the frontrunner for MVP on DraftKings Sportsbook with +350 odds after a stellar 2023-24 season where he averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists, earning his third MVP in four years. Jokic’s dominance as a playmaker for the Denver Nuggets continues to put him at the top of the league.

Right behind him is Luka Doncic (+370) following his historic season, where he became the first player to average at least 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Doncic’s MVP case is only growing stronger, especially with the addition of Klay Thompson and after leading the Mavericks to the Finals.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+500) is also in the mix after leading the Thunder to the top seed in the Western Conference, averaging 30.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. His emergence as a top-tier star positions him well in the MVP race. Joel Embiid (+650) looks to reclaim his title after another dominant season, while Giannis Antetokounmpo rounds out the top five at +750, remaining a consistent threat in the MVP conversation.

Rookie of the Year Favorites

The Rookie of the Year race is filled with high-upside prospects. Zach Edey leads the DraftKings Sportsbook odds at +550. The 7-foot-4 center is expected to make an immediate impact with the Memphis Grizzlies, complementing Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. Reed Sheppard (+700), the No. 3 pick, is a top contender for the Houston Rockets. His sharpshooting and playmaking will be vital in Houston’s young backcourt.

Zaccharie Risacher (+850), the No. 1 overall pick for the Atlanta Hawks, brings an intriguing combination of size, ball-handling, and shooting from the French League. Alexandre Sarr (+1000) was selected second overall by the Washington Wizards and offers elite two-way potential with his defensive versatility. Stephon Castle (+1000) joins the Spurs and has the opportunity to grow alongside Victor Wembanyama and veteran teammates. Matas Buzelis (+1000) adds his well-rounded skill set to the Chicago Bulls, making this year’s Rookie of the Year race particularly competitive.

Most Improved Player of the Year Outlook

Victor Wembanyama (+750) tops the DraftKings Sportsbook odds for Most Improved Player after an impressive rookie season. The French sensation is expected to take his game to the next level. Evan Mobley (+1100) continues to develop his all-around game for Cleveland, while Jonathan Kuminga (+1400) is in line for a breakout season with Golden State, as Klay Thompson’s departure opens up more offensive opportunities.

Josh Giddey (+1500), traded to the Chicago Bulls, has a prime opportunity to grow as a playmaker and scorer in a new system. Jalen Williams (+1500) is entering his third season with the Thunder and has shown consistent development, poised to take on a bigger role. Last season’s winner, Tyrese Maxey, set a high bar, finishing with career-best averages of 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.7 rebounds. This year’s crop of contenders is poised to make similar leaps as they embrace expanded roles.

Coach of the Year Outlook

Ime Udoka (+800) leads the Coach of the Year odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, tasked with developing Houston’s young talent. Tom Thibodeau (+1000) has the Knicks positioned to make a deep playoff run after adding Karl-Anthony Towns, while Joe Mazzulla (+1000) looks to build on Boston’s Finals appearance. Jamahl Mosley (+1200) is focused on pushing Orlando to another level after last season’s 13-win improvement.

Reigning Coach of the Year Mark Daigneault (+1300) remains a top candidate after leading the Thunder to the best record in the West. Daigneault has built a strong culture with the Thunder, maximizing the potential of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren; with the latter coming off a stellar first full season. Daigneault’s leadership and the team’s continued growth make him a strong contender for another run at the award.

Sixth Man of the Year Outlook

The Sixth Man of the Year race has some exciting storylines for the 2024-25 season. Malik Monk (+425) is favored after excelling in his bench role with the Sacramento Kings, though the arrival of DeMar DeRozan may change his usage. Naz Reid (+750), last year’s winner, averaged 13.5 points and 5.2 rebounds. He will now form a potent bench duo with Donte DiVincenzo (+1200), who was acquired by Minnesota after a career-high 15.5 PPG season.

Caris LeVert (+1100) and Josh Hart (+1200) are also key contenders, both playing pivotal roles off the bench for their respective teams. With Minnesota’s strong rotation and added depth, the Reid-DiVincenzo partnership could elevate their chances of taking home the award.

Defensive Player of the Year Outlook

Victor Wembanyama is the clear favorite for Defensive Player of the Year at -170, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. After leading the league in blocks as a rookie, his defensive versatility and ability to guard multiple positions make him a frontrunner for the award. Rudy Gobert (+1300), the reigning DPOY, is still a formidable contender after winning his fourth trophy last season, while Bam Adebayo (+1300) anchors Miami’s defense with his consistent elite play.

Evan Mobley (+1600) and Chet Holmgren (+1600) are young contenders, offering shot-blocking and defensive versatility. Anthony Davis (+1800) and Jaren Jackson Jr. (+2000) round out the top contenders, but Wembanyama’s combination of size, athleticism, and defensive dominance makes him the favorite heading into the new season.
