Georgia takes on Texas in one of the biggest games of the year on Saturday night. Here is how to bet the game on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Georgia (+4.5) at Texas o/u 56
Georgia Team Breakdown
Georgia was the No. 1 team in the country and the national title favorite entering the season, but it has been an up-and-down year so far. They looked dominant in Week 1 against Clemson, but they have had some lackluster performances since then, including their loss to Alabama. Unlike past Georgia teams, the defense is having some serious struggles. Their secondary is 75th in the nation in EPA/pass and that is a major area of concern facing Quinn Ewers and Texas.
On offense, Carson Beck has been playing really good football ever since the second half of the Alabama game. The Georgia passing offense has been efficient and has also been able to hit big plays down the field. They have some injuries on the offensive line that have hurt them in the run game but, overall, the offense has done their job this season.
Texas Team Breakdown
Texas has been the best team in the country this season. However, there are fair criticisms to be made about their strength of schedule to this point. They have yet to face an offense that ranks better than 55th in the country in EPA/play. Their two biggest wins were over Michigan and Oklahoma, but neither team has a quarterback that’s any sort of downfield passing threat. So, their secondary currently ranks first in the nation in EPA/pass, but Carson Beck will be by far the best offense they have faced.
Pick and Prediction
This should be a really exciting back-and-forth game between two explosive offenses. The Texas defense is good, but they are not as good as they have looked this season. Carson Beck will be able to hit some explosive plays in this game and Georgia should find a decent rhythm on offense. That being said, Quinn Ewers should also have a good amount of success throwing on the Georgia secondary which has looked vulnerable against lesser quarterbacks than Ewers this year.
This game could quickly turn into a shootout, just like the Georgia-Alabama game. The game could simply come down to whoever has the ball last and could even be an overtime game. That being said, I am taking the underdog and the over. Georgia should be able to hang in this game the whole way and have a chance to win at the end.
