Dallas Goedert injured his hamstring this past Sunday vs. the Browns and, after missing practice all week, the TE has been ruled out for Week 7. Many reports have suggested the tight end will miss multiple games. Grant Calcaterra ($3,200) should operate as the Eagles’ top tight end.
With Goedert only available for 5% of the snaps last Sunday, Calcaterra stepped into a bigger role and caught all four of his targets for 67 yards (10.7 FPTS). The third-year pro ran a route on a season-high 89% of his team’s drop backs and he garnered a target on 17% of those routes. Notably, Calcaterra was the only Eagles’ tight end to see a target after Goedert got hurt.
Goedert ranks seventh in target share among tight ends this season (19.7%), so there is a large void for Calcaterra to fill as the next man up Philadelphia. This week’s matchup vs. the Giants isn’t the greatest, as New York is more susceptible on the ground than through the air, but nonetheless, Calcaterra is viable starter for fantasy players who need a replacement for Goedert. Plus, at only $3,200 on DraftKings for DFS, Calcaterra is a solid target for all formats.
