It’s important to look at WR/CB matchups when setting your fantasy football lineups. At times, we have some matchups that we can exploit and receive the best fantasy output in return. I’ll do my best to point out some of the best Week 7 WR/CB matchups to target when making your fantasy or DraftKings lineup.

Week 7 WR/CB Matchup:
Demario Douglas (NE) vs. Darnell Savage (JAX)
We start the week off with the early London game, starting at 9:30 a.m. ET. This will be the second start for rookie Drake Maye, who threw to Douglas nine times last week against the Texans. Those nine targets were more than double anyone else on the team and gives Douglas an average of 5.1 targets per game. Douglas has solidified himself as the Pats slot receiver, doing so on 79% of his snaps. He’ll be going up against S Darnell Savage, who is back to covering the slot after a few week absence.
We’ve only seen Savage for three games this season and he’s allowed eight catches on 13 targets. This continues a trend we saw last season where he allowed an 80% catch rate on 24 targets. Targeting slot receivers has been a success for opposing teams against the Jaguars to this point. Regardless of coverage, opposing slot receivers have been targeted 57 times and have 41 catches for 394 yards and three touchdowns. If Maye continues to rely upon Douglas moving forward, this should be a great spot for the Pats receiver.

Week 7 WR/CB Matchup:
A.J. Brown (PHI) vs. Deonte Banks (NYG)
Brown made a big splash in his return to the Eagles offense in Week 6. On nine targets, he made six catches for 119 yards and a touchdown against the Browns. I wrote up Brown’s matchup against Martin Emerson and last week and while Brown was only targeted twice against him, he scored on his one catch. Now, Brown will have yet another favorable matchup in coverage, this time against Deonte Banks.
Banks has been torched in coverage thus far. On 35 targets, opposing receivers have made 22 catches for 323 yards and four touchdowns. Amongst all cornerbacks, those four touchdowns are tied for most in the league with Emerson and Tre’Davious White. The 14.7 YPR is also one of the highest in the league, making Banks one of the most exploitable corners. Brown has already been putting up monster numbers through two games, including 236 receiving yards. 86 of those have come after the catch, which could really spell toruble for Banks. This is a VERY good spot for Brown and he has to be considered one of the top wide receiver options when building your DraftKings lineup.

Week 7 WR/CB Matchup:
Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET) vs. Byron Murphy Jr (MIN)
If you’ve been reading this article, you’ve most certainly seen Murphy Jr featured. He’s been one of the worst corners in the league, so I don’t envision this being the last time you’ll see him either.
Amongst qualified cornerbacks, Murphy Jr has seen the second-most targets (48) and has allowed the most catches (35). Murphy Jr has given up 405 yards (2nd in the league), 144 yards after the catch (5th) and two touchdowns. Now he’s going up against St. Brown? Good luck!
The Vikings have have been a force against the run but beating them through the air has been the way. The majority of St. Brown’s snaps should be against Murphy Jr, so this is a matchup I want to exploit. Even when he’s not lined up against him, St. Brown will see Stephon Gilmore and Shaq Griffin. Both of them aren’t performing to the levels we’ve seen in the past. If you can somehow jam Brown and St. Brown in a DraftKings lineup this week, that could be massive.
