Guardians-Yankees Game 2: MLB ALCS Best Bets, Predictions, Odds on DraftKings Sportsbook

Tuesday night features Game 2 of the ALCS between the Guardians and Yankees. After a 5-2 win by the Yankees, they’ll look to take a 2-0 series lead with Gerrit Cole taking the mound. Tanner Bibee has been solid but will this be his toughest opponent yet? I’ll give you some of the bets I’ll be taking tonight that you can tail on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Cleveland Guardians at New York Yankees

Juan Soto over 1.5 bases +125

A great spot for Soto against Guardians starter Tanner Bibee. His struggles on the mound came when facing lefties during the season. Bibee ended with a .336 wOBA with 14 of the 22 home runs he allowed and a 45% fly ball rate against them. When it comes to pitch selection, it essentially boils down to a four seam and slider for the Guardians starter. Soto has crushed both of these pitches during the regular season. He had a .493 and .348 ISO against the fastball and a .336 wOBA with a .209 ISO against the slider. With the way Soto has been swinging the bat during the postseason already, it would not surprise me to see him go over 1.5 bases in this matchup.

Yankees run line -0.5 through first five innings -125

With Cole on the mound, there’s a very strong chance the Yankees will have the lead at the conclusion of five innings. After being lit up by the Red Sox in the middle of September, Cole has really settled in on the mound. Over his last four starts, which include two in the playoffs, he’s allowed just five runs through 27.2 innings. He did face the Guardians early in the season and shut them out through six innings. As I eluded to earlier, I think Bibee is going to struggle against this Yankees lineup, so taking the Yankees to have the lead after five innings feels like the right choice. If you wanted to take this even further, I would not hate taking Cole to record a win, which is currently at +125.

Jose Ramirez over 0.5 walks +225

It’s not the most exciting bet to make, but Ramirez is a very patient hitter. Granted, his walk rate dipped under 10% for the first time since 2019 but he still had an 8% BB% rate on the season. What caught my eye was that Ramirez has drawn seven walks against Cole throughout their battles. As someone who is very tough to strikeout, it’s not a surprise that Ramirez is taking Cole deep into counts. While Cole is usually very good with his command, he did have an 8.3% BB% against lefties during the regular season. At +225, I think this bet is worth taking a shot, especially with the history these two have had.
