With less than a month until Election Day, we’re diving into the latest odds on DraftKings for the 2024 US Presidential Election, available exclusively in Ontario, Canada.
Last week we detailed the line movement we’ve been seeing and now we can report that Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris is currently at +110 odds to win the 2024 Presidential Election, while Republican nominee former President Donald Trump is the favorite at the moment at -140. With both candidates campaigning in Pennsylvania today, a key battleground state, it will be interesting to see if the odds change.
RealClear Politics has Harris has a +1.7 point advantage in their latest average of presidential election polls. However, in its latest poll, NBC News has the race as a dead heat. NBC News‘ most recent poll, conducted from October 4-8, shows Harris and Trump neck and neck, both getting 48% support from registered voters. Meanwhile, 4% surveyed say they’re undecided or wouldn’t vote for either candidate when given just those two options. And when factoring in third party candidates, Trump actually holds a small 1-point edge. At the same time, all of this is far from written in stone, as NBC News notes that 10% of voters say they might change their minds before Election Day.
The polls appear to be in line with what we’re seeing on DraftKings. Just a month ago, on September 13, Harris was on an upswing following a strong summer surge and the aftermath of the presidential debate on September 10. As a result she the favorite at the time with -135 odds, with Trump trailing with +100 odds, which at the time were his worst since the moment when markets opened and he was at +250. Conversely, Trump’s current -140 odds are his best of the 2024 election cycle.
As the election draws closer, it’s becoming clear that the race is much tighter than what the odds may have initially suggested and will likely be among the closest in U.S. history.
