NFL Week 6 Confidence Picks
High Confidence
Eagles over Browns – The Browns’ offense is broken. Deshaun Watson has been the worst quarterback in the NFL this season and the defense is starting to suffer from the tough spots their offense continuously puts them in. The Eagles are coming off a bye week and should be fresh and ready to dominate this Browns team.
Texans over Patriots – Drake Maye is starting his first-career game and this is a tough matchup for him. DeMeco Ryans is a great defensive coach and should make it tough on Maye, especially with the state of the Patriots’ offensive line. Ultimately, Stroud will score too much for Maye to keep up with.
Ravens over Commanders – Jayden Daniels has been on fire but this is going to be the toughest defensive matchup he has faced in his young career. The Ravens should come up with a great defensive game plan to limit what this Commanders offense has been doing so well in recent weeks. Also, the Commanders’ defense has a lot of issues and Lamar Jackson should be able to pick them apart.
Packers over Cardinals – Jordan Love is back in a groove after returning from his early-season injury and the Packers are looking dangerous. The Cardinals got a good win against the 49ers last week but they were helped out by the 49ers having no kicker. The Packers should be too much for the Cardinals at home.
Medium Confidence
49ers over Seahawks – The 49ers are desperate for a win on Thursday Night Football. They should be able to throw the ball against Seattle, whose secondary has really been struggling this season. It’s a divisional road matchup which is always tough, but Kyle Shanahan has the coaching advantage on a short week.
Falcons over Panthers – The Falcons are finding ways to win games under tough circumstances. Kirk Cousins is starting to play really well in this offense and the Falcons are a tough team to beat. The Panthers’ initial bump of playing better with Andy Dalton is wearing off and they still have a lot of issues on both sides of the ball.
Lions over Cowboys – The Cowboys have scraped out back-to-back wins against the Steelers and Giants, but they have not looked very impressive in those wins. The Lions are better than both of those teams, especially on offense, and the Cowboys should struggle to get stops. The Lions should also be able to get after Dak Prescott in this game and force mistakes.
Steelers over Raiders – The Steelers lost in the final minute against the Cowboys last week but this is a good bounce-back spot for them. The Raiders are making a QB change to Aidan O’Connell and this Steelers defensive front is a scary prospect for a guy making his first start of the season. If Justin Fields plays smart football like he did the first few weeks of the season, the Steelers’ defense should get them a win here.
Bengals over Giants – The Giants are playing well right now but they still have some issues in the secondary. Joe Burrow is arguably the best quarterback in the league at the moment and he should be able to produce some big plays against this secondary. The Bengals have played well but found ways to lose games the past few weeks which is why they are at the bottom of this tier. However, if they just play smart they should be able to get a win against the Giants.
Coin-Flip Games
Buccaneers over Saints – Spencer Rattler is making his first career start for the Saints. I am high on Rattler long-term but this is a tough spot in his first-career start because of the struggles the Saints were having even with Carr under center. The Bucs’ offense is dangerous and should be able to move the ball against this Saints defense.
Jets over Bills – The Jets saga continued this week with the firing of Robert Saleh. If the Jets are going to save their season, this is the spot against the team ahead of them at the top of the AFC East. The new head coach bump could be enough to get the Jets fired up in primetime to take down the Bills.
Chargers over Broncos – The Broncos have won three games in a row but the Chargers are coming off a bye and should have a good game plan for Bo Nix. Good defensive coaches love going up against rookie QBs and, with an extra week to prepare, the Chargers should have some good things schemed up. Justin Herbert also had time to heal up from his ankle sprain and will hopefully look more like himself in this game.
Bears over Jaguars – The Bears are starting to play well and Caleb Williams is piecing together some really good performances at quarterback. The Jaguars finally picked up their first win of the season last week, but they still didn’t look very convincing in that win. The Bears are the better team at the moment and should find a way to win here.
Titans over Colts – The Colts might be turning back to Anthony Richardson, as it looks like he will be healthy enough to play this weekend. Their offense has been better under Flacco than with Richardson so I am downgrading them. The Colts also have a lot of other offensive injuries including key players like Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman. The Titans looked good with Mason Rudolph and there’s a chance they will stick with him as Will Levis isn’t back to 100%.
