MLB Divisional Series Best Bets for Today, October 8: Baseball Predictions, Odds on DraftKings Sportsbook

For the first time EVER, all four of the MLB Divisional Series are tied 1-1. It’s shocking to think this has never happened before but you, YOU were alive for when it did. And now, we’ll have some MLB Divisional Series bets.

Tonight features Game 3 for the Phillies vs. Mets and Dodgers vs. Padres. I’ll give some of my favorite bets for these games that you can tail on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets
The Pick: Phillies team total over 3.5 runs -115

I like the Phillies to come out of the gate swinging against Sean Manaea and the Mets. This is a good spot for them against the sinker ball, which Manaea is throwing 69% of the time. He’s changed his arsenal dramatically from last season, ditching the four seam and slider and focusing on the sinker, and then a sweeper and changeup. Unfortunately for him, the Phillies have crushed sinkers, specifically from lefties. On the season, tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .401 wOBA with a .166 ISO and only a 13.4% K%. Those kind of numbers are on par with how Manaea has performed against this team during the regular season. He pitched 16.2 innings against them and allowed 10 runs on 14 hits, including four home runs.

San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Pick: Fernando Tatis Jr. over 1.5 bases -105

Tatis Jr has been on a different level during these playoffs. Coming into tonight, he’s already 9-for-14 with three home runs, two doubles and five RBI. Now, he’ll have a great matchup against Dodgers starter Walker Buehler. It’s been a lost season for the Dodgers starter, who had a 5.38 ERA with an xERA of 4.68 and a 5.54 FIP during the regular season. Buehler throws both a four seam and cutter as his two main pitches, combining for 52% of his arsenal. Tatis crushes both of these pitches with a .490 wOBA and a .443 ISO against the four seam and a .449 wOBA and a .333 ISO against the cutter. With the way he’s locked in at the plate right now, another offensive outburst for him is certainly in the cards.

I’ve included Tatis Jr in a Same Game Parlay that is up on DraftKings Sportsbook, ahead of tonight’s Dodgers-Padres Game 3.

San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Pick: Padres run line -0.5 through first five innings -115

Going with the theme of the last bet, I think the Padres will also be in the lead after five innings. Michael King taking the mound for the Padres gives me a lot of confidence in this bet. He pitched a gem in his first playoff start against the Braves, tossing seven shutout innings and racking up 12 strikeouts, which tied his season-high. King has made four starts against the Dodgers this season and after being roughed up by them in April, he allowed just one unearned run in his next two. His last start of the regular season was against this team, tossing five innings and three hits. King has been locked in since the second-half of the season and owned a 2.15 ERA with a .264 wOBA through 62.2 innings.
