Opening odds for Week 6 of the NFL on DraftKings Sportsbook

Published:

By: Stan Son

NFL Week 5 is almost in the books, pending Monday night’s matchup, but the opening odds for Week 6 are up on DraftKings Sportsbook and it’s time to give a lookey-loo.

The bye weeks started in Week 5. There were four teams off then, and there are four teams off in Week 6: Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings.

On Thursday night, we are blessed with a NFC West matchup, as the division-leading Seattle Seahawks host the San Franciso 49ers.

The Londoners get exported another doozy, with the Jacksonville Jaguars facing off against the Chicago Bears. Sarcasm alert.

The rest of the early Sunday slate consists of six games. There are some large spreads with only two games within a field goal and only one home dog. The late-afternoon slate consists of four games, with three of four games within a field goal and the largest favorite is 4.5 points. The night game features two bad defenses.

There is one game on Monday night, as the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets battle for supremacy in the AFC East.

Here’s the full list of Week 6 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. We will update throughout the week.

Thursday Night Football, October 10th

Seahawks vs. 49ers

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
SF 49ers-3 -115O47 -110-162
SEA Seahawks+3 -105U47 -110+136

After streaking out to a 3-0 record, the Seahawks have dropped the last two games. They got thumped in Detroit and let the Malik Nabers-less Giants pimp walk out of Lumen Field with the victory. They still sit atop the NFC West because the 49ers have dropped three of their last four games. Two of those were to division rivals in contests they were leading. The 49ers still have the second-lowest odds to win the Super Bowl, though, at +750.

Sunday Early Games, October 13th

Bears vs. Jaguars – London

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
JAX Jaguars+1.5 +110O43.5 -110+105
CHI Bears-1.5 -110U43.5 -110-125

The Jaguars finally got a win in Week 5, which means there are no more winless teams. The NFL executives in Park Avenue are now satisfied. Can they make it two in a row? Let’s not get ridiculous now. I kid I kid. On Any Given Sunday. After scuffling on offense the first few weeks of the season, the Bears have emerged from hibernation and done some things. It was against the Rams and Panthers, though, two of the more generous defenses in the league.

Eagles vs. Browns

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
CLE Browns+9.5 -110O44 -110+360
PHI Eagles-9.5 -110U44 -110-470

The Eagles are the largest favorite in Week 6. They are coming off their bye and could get their star wide receiver, A.J. Brown, back. The Browns? Well, they have one win on the season and lost to the Raiders. Deshaun Watson has failed to throw for at least 200 yards in a contest this season. $230 million just doesn’t get you what it used to.

Ravens vs. Commanders

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
WAS Commanders+6.5 -115O52 -105+225
BAL Ravens-6.5 -105U52 -115-278

There are two games with a total of at least 50 in Week 6. This game has the highest total. Lamar Jackson vs. Jayden Daniels. This should be a fun one. We know that the Ravens are going to score points against the sieve that is the Commanders D. The Ravens are fast and tough on defense. In addition, they are well-versed in dual-threat quarterbacks, so it will be interesting if Daniels can continue to do his thing. Defenses are going to poke and prod to find weaknesses, forcing Daniels to adjust. Will this be the week?

Patriots vs. Texans

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
HOU Texans-7 -115O38.5 -110-345
NE Patriots+7 -105U38.5 -110+275

Next Gen Stats does not show the Patriots as the worst offense in the NFL. I don’t care about the stat nerds. The Patriots are gross on offense. The unit has scored 62 points through five games. Tom Brady would put that up in two games. Well, the Devil is now collecting on the dynasty deal made decades ago. And there is no optimism in sight, as they are allowing a league-leading 48.3% quarterback pressure rate. The Texans are 4-1, but not exactly humming on all cylinders. Nico Collins suffered an injury in Week 5, which obviously affects the passing game.

Titans vs. Colts

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
IND Colts+1 -115O42.5 -110-108
TEN Titans-1 -105U42.5 -110-112

After losing their first three games of the season, the Titans finally notched a W in Week 4. Granted, it was against a squished Dolphins team without Tua Tagovailoa, but a win is a win. The Titans also had their bye in Week 5, so they are rested, prepared, and feeling good coming into Week 6. Joe Flacco has infused juice into the Colts offense, but Anthony Richardson could be back in Week 6. Whether he plays or not is a huge variable for this one.

Packers vs. Cardinals

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
ARI Cardinals+5 -110O50 -110+190
GB Packers-5 -110U50 -110-230

This game has the second-highest total of the week. The Cardinals just pulled out an impressive 24-23 win over their rivals in the Bay. Now they travel to the not-yet-frozen tundra to face off against the Packers, who notched a 24-19 win over the Rams in Week 5. Both of these teams can score points, but will the Packers choose to just pound the porous rush defense of the Cardinals into submission?

Saints vs. Buccaneers

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
TB Buccaneers+2.5 +100O45 -110+120
NO Saints-2.5 -120U45 -110-142

Outside of getting pushed around by the Denver D, Baker Mayfield and the Bucs’ passing game has been one of the best in the league, posting the 10th-best EPA. That Denver pass defense is the second-best unit, only behind the Minnesota Vikings. The Saints have a Pass EPA of -27.4 on defense, the sixth-best mark in the NFL. In addition, they are intimately familiar with the Bucs, so this should be an interesting chess match. After their torrid start, the Saints offense has come back to earth, resulting in two straight losses. They play on Monday night in Kansas City, so this will be a short turnaround for them.

Sunday Late Afternoon Games

Broncos vs. Chargers

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
LA Chargers-2 -110O37 -110-135
DEN Broncos+2 -110U37 -110+114

This game has the lowest total on the slate. The Chargers are 28th in passing rate and they don’t want to attack the stout Broncos pass defense, anyways. Unfortunately, the Broncos rush defense isn’t too shabby either and the Chargers have some huge injuries, especially to their offensive line. The Broncos have won their last three on the strength of their defense. It’s also helped that Bo Nix hasn’t thrown an interception after gifting two in each of the first two contests.

Raiders vs. Steelers

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
PIT Steelers-3 -108O36.5 -112-155
LV Raiders+3 -112U36.5 -108+130

There is uncertainty regarding the quarterback situation for the Raiders as head coach Antonio Pierce declined to name a starting quarterback for Week 6 after the Week 5 loss. And that’s going to be a big deal because the Steelers boast the best rush defense in the league, so the path of least resistance is through the air. Gardner Minshew is prone to errors, but he’s a veteran while Aidan O’Connell doesn’t have as much experience. This game has the second-lowest total on the week, so the chance for offensive fireworks is slim to none.

Panthers vs. Falcons

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
ATL Falcons-4.5 -110O48 -110-225
CAR Panthers+4.5 -110U48 -110+185

Kirk Cousins went 42 of 58 for 509 yards and four touchdowns in Week 4 against the Buccaneers. Now, he faces a Panthers team that is 30th in Pass EPA. Ruh roh. Andy Dalton had a difficult time navigating a tough Bears pass defense in Week 5, but he gets a huge reprieve in Week 6 as the Falcons are pressuring the quarterback at a league-worst rate and are allowing the seventh-highest Pass EPA. There are definite paths to this becoming a back-and-forth affair.

Cowboys vs. Lions

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
DET Lions-3.5 -102O52.5 -110-170
DAL Cowboys+3.5 -118U52.5 -110+142

This game is tied for the highest total of the weekend. Dallas has now won two straight after losing two straight. Since scoring 33 points in the opener against the Browns, the Cowboys have put up 19, 25, 20 and 20 points. Detroit is coming off their bye, so they should be well rested and prepared. The Lions are sporting one of the most balanced offenses in the game. The strength of the Dallas D is defending the pass, but they have been gashed on the ground. The Lions love to play bully ball and that will likely be the plan of attack. The weakness of the Lions defense is defending the pass, and the Cowboys stink on the ground anyways, so there’s no wonder why many think this could be a shootout.

Sunday Night Game

Giants vs. Bengals

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
CIN Bengals-3.5 -110O48 -110-180
NY Giants+3.5 -110U48 -110+150

The Bengals have only one win on the season, but it’s not because of their offense. That unit has scored 33, 34 and 38 points over the last three games with Joe Burrow throwing for 324, 232 and 392 yards. The rush defense has allowed the highest success rate while the pass defense has given up the sixth-highest success rate. Dare I say that Daniel Jones is good? I just used my left hand to pick up my right hand and….slapped myself across the face. With that deed done, Jones has completed 70.6%, 72.5% and 67.6% of his passes over the last three weeks while throwing four touchdowns and only one interception. He went into Seattle without Malik Nabers and guided the G-men to victory.

Monday Night Game, October 14th

Jets vs. Bills

Odds on Sunday, October 6

SpreadTotalMoneyline
BUF Bills-2.5 -110O42 -110-142
NY Jets+2.5 -110U42 -110+120

After looking like the greatest thing since remote controls, the Bills have fallen upon tough offensive times. They scored 10 points against the Ravens with Allen being held to 180 yards passing. In Week 5, the Texans held Allen to 131 yards passing and 20 points on the scoreboard. Now Allen has to face a Jets team that hasn’t allowed 20 points in a game all season. The pass defense is second-best in success rate, fourth-best in Pass EPA and pressures the quarterback at the third-highest rate. The Bills have allowed the fifth-lowest Pass EPA on defense, but the rush defense has been the 10th-worst in terms of Rush EPA. Both teams will likely ground-and-pound, making the offensive environment a bland one.
