Can we just name Justin Fields the starting quarterback of the Steelers moving forward?
Russell Wilson has been “ramping up” his participation in practice, but he’s still being listed as a limited participant. At this rate, why even make a change with how well Fields has been playing? In Week 5 against the Cowboys, I think he’ll run one in for the fourth time on the young season. Against a very generous Cowboys run defense, it sets up very nicely. This is why I’m taking Fields to score a touchdown at +145.

His anytime touchdown line opened at +165, so this has come down already. As we get closer to kickoff Sunday, I wouldn’t expect +145 to be there either. Fields has been a big factor in the red zone for the Steelers, running the ball 11 times. Those attempts are only one attempt less than Najee Harris has taken. The glaring difference has been that Harris has been unable to score in this scenario and averaging just 1.8 YPC. This Cowboys run defense has been horrendous in the early going. They’ve allowed six rushing touchdowns, two of them coming from opposing quarterbacks. It’s been the biggest hole on defense and one that the Steelers should be able to exploit.
It’s worth noting that Micah Parsons is expected to miss this game as well. It takes away the Cowboys best pass rusher and allow Fields to scan the field more efficiently. This is one of my favorite anytime touchdown bets of Week 5.
