In one of the game’s premier matchups, the Cowboys face the Steelers on Sunday Night Football.
It’s primetime, which means DraftKings has a Sunday Night Showdown contest. In this mode, choosing the best captain is critical since they earn 1.5x fantasy points. I’ve narrowed down my three favorite players deserving of claiming the crown and leading your squad to victory.

CeeDee Lamb ($17,700)
The gap between CeeDee Lamb and the second-best Dallas pass catcher is the size of a Texas cowboy hat—unreasonably large and noticeable. Part of it is Lamb, a wideout crafted from a lab: a large, toned frame who can blow past defenders with his technical route running or breakaway speed. He’s in the Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson class of guys who look the part and perform every Sunday. Those stars have a phenomenal infrastructure around them to further elevate their abilities, whereas Lamb is tasked with carrying the entire aerial attack.
The 25-year-old is nearly doubling up his teammates in every meaningful receiving category. It doesn’t help that the rushing attack has taken a dramatic step backward, mustering just 3.5 yards per carry. Defenses has never had an easier time focusing on number 88, yet he’s still producing.
Josh Downs wracked up 80 yards through quick hitters (slants, drags, hitches) last week against Pittsburgh’s vaunted defense, exposing that if the pass rush gets out of rhythm, the secondary is vulnerable. If Lamb follows a similar formula, he is a clear-cut captain favorite.
Dak Prescott ($16,200)
Regardless of the postseason doubts swirling around Dak Prescott, he’s an efficient slinger with fantasy relevance. Even behind an offensive line that has severely struggled the first few weeks, Prescott is hanging strong in the pocket and delivering darts.
The Cowboys‘ signal-caller is responsible for all but one score this season due to the aforementioned pitiful rushing attack. The lack of weapons around him is a long-term detriment, but he’s done a decent job spreading the rock in the red zone, tossing touchdowns to five different players.
This offense can be dangerous if he can get the rock out early and often. If he can stay upright, his sheer volume of throws should have him on everyone’s DFS radar.
Justin Fields ($14,700)
The leader in the clubhouse for the 2024 Trick or Treat MVP, Justin Fields has been a dual-threat game manager or athletic floor raiser, depending on which lens you care to look through. Depending on the broadcast angle or week you catch him, the fourth-year pro either looks like the future of the quarterback position or an enticing backup with wheels.
The Steelers are 3-1 because of the league’s best defensive unit, but Fields and the offense have shown some flashes. Last week, he tossed for over 300 yards and accounted for three scores. Even if the accuracy goes sideways, his legs give him a serviceable floor. He’s the overall QB7, and if he continues to get a starting job, that placement will likely only increase.
Going head-to-head with a vulnerable Dallas group without Micah Parsons, Fields is my favorite choice to lead your squad this week.
