Hurricane Helene has caused widespread damage across the Southeastern United States, leaving a lasting and devastating impact. DraftKings is proud to support the American Red Cross in their relief efforts through a $250,000 donation to provide safe shelter, meals, emotional support and supplies for people facing unimaginable destruction.
DraftKings’ donation will help ensure that the American Red Cross staff and volunteers have the supplies and tools needed to help the tens of thousands of people impacted by Hurricane Helene.
“Thanks to DraftKings’ generous donation, the American Red Cross, alongside our partners, is able to support families who experienced the heartbreaking devastation from Hurricane Helene,” Anne McKeough, chief development officer at the American Red Cross, said in a statement. “We are grateful for partners like DraftKings as we work together to provide comfort and hope to people when they need it most.”
Tens of thousands of homes have been impacted by Hurricane Helene, with entire communities still isolated due to flooding and damaged infrastructure. Approximately 5 million people remain without power.
“DraftKings stands in support of the communities affected by Hurricane Helene across the Southeastern United States, especially in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina,” said DraftKings CEO and co-founder Jason Robins in a statement. “We are grateful to the Red Cross responders working to help those in need, and we are committed to helping these communities as they recover.”
