NFL Week 5 Straight-Up Picks with Confidence Level

These are my picks to win every Week 5 NFL game straight up, tiered by confidence level and ranked within each tier. You can bet on any of these games at DraftKings Sportsbook.

NFL Week 5 Confidence Picks

High Confidence

49ers over Cardinals – The 49ers righted the ship last week with a dominant win over the Patriots. Things aren’t quite clicking for the Cardinals and the 49ers should be able to take care of business against their division rivals.

Seahawks over Giants – The Seahawks suffered their first loss of the season last week against the Lions, but this is a great bounce-back spot for them at home against the Giants. Their offense is firing on all cylinders and should simply score too much for Daniel Jones to keep up with.

Chiefs over Saints – After a blistering start, it has been two bad performances for the Saints. Their offense has been unable to adjust to how they are being defended and the holes in their defense have been exposed. The Chiefs are banged up on offense, but you should get a great defensive effort from them and Mahomes will make the winning throws at the right time.

Packers over Rams – The Packers have had a bit of a rollercoaster season so far, but this is a spot where they really need a win. The NFC North is very competitive and the difference between a 3-2 start and a 2-3 start is massive. The Rams are really banged up and Jordan Love should be able to throw on this Los Angeles secondary to get a victory.

Medium Confidence

Commanders over Browns – The Commanders have the best offense in the NFL at the moment, but have major issues on defense. Deshaun Watson and this Cleveland offense do not have the weapons to attack that vulnerable defense so Washington should be able to pick up another win here.

Bears over Panthers – The Bears are starting to find some rhythm and Caleb Williams is looking more comfortable at QB. The Panthers are better on offense with Andy Dalton but the Bears should find a way to win a close one at home.

Jaguars over Colts – The Jaguars are due for their first win of the season. The Jaguars have won nine straight home games against the Colts and should be able to make it ten in this spot. Joe Flacco could be starting at QB and Jonathan Taylor might not play either. This is the perfect spot for the Jaguars to find that win.

Falcons over Buccaneers – The Falcons have a couple of advantages over the Bucs with their run game and special teams. In front of their home crowd in primetime, they should be able to squeak out a close win.

Broncos over RaidersThe Broncos are in a groove after back-to-back wins and should carry that momentum into this game. They should be able to run the ball against the Raiders and put up some points. The Raiders are a bit of a mess at the moment with the Davante Adams saga and their offense should really struggle against a tough Broncos defense.

Coin-Flip Games

Jets over Vikings – The Jets desperately need a win and London is the place to get it. Their defense is starting to play at a really high level and should be able to keep Sam Darnold in check. Aaron Rodgers is experienced compared to CJ Stroud, Brock Purdy, Daniel Jones and Jordan Love, who have all struggled against Brian Flores’ creative defensive concepts. The Jets offense should have some success utilizing all of their weapons in this game.

Bengals over Ravens – The Bengals finally picked up their first win but they need to keep winning to get back in the playoff race, even this early in the season. This would be a pivotal win against a divisional opponent and they do have the weapons to be able to exploit some holes in the Baltimore defense. They are very familiar with how to defend Lamar Jackson and should keep him in check.

Patriots over Dolphins – The Patriots have struggled the past two weeks but this is the perfect spot for them to find another win. This is one of the only games they will play where they have the better quarterback. They also have the better defense and should be able to shut down the puttering Miami offense.

Cowboys over Steelers – This should be a really tight game, but ultimately, the Cowboys should find the one or two explosive plays needed to get an extra few points on the board. CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott need to hit a couple of big plays, but if they do, they should have just enough to win.

Texans over Bills – This should be a great game between two of the best teams in the AFC, but the Texans have a slight edge. At home, CJ Stroud has been much better than on the road so far in his career. They have the weapons at wide receiver to exploit some holes in the Buffalo secondary and should be able to win in a great matchup.
