With Jordan Love ($6,500) back under center and Christian Watson (ankle) exiting the game early, Dontayvion Wicks ($5,000) flourished last Sunday vs. the Vikings. The wideout hauled in five of his career-high 13 targets for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns, resulting in 24.8 FPTS.
With Watson only available for 12% of the snaps, Wicks ran a route on a season-high 80% of his team’s drop backs and he saw a target on a team-best 29% of those routes. Notably, three of Wicks’ targets came in the red zone and a whopping five of his targets were at greater than 20 yards of depth.
Wicks ranks 18th in the NFL in aDOT this season (14.8) and he leads the Packers in air yards share (29.5%). As we saw last week, Wicks has all the makings of an elite fantasy asset and, with Watson expected to be out this Sunday vs. the Rams, Wicks shouldn’t disappoint as full-time player for Green Bay.
Los Angeles has been dreadful against the pass this season, allowing the most yards per pass in the league (8.6). The Rams have given up the second-most touchdowns to receivers (7) and this game’s total is the second-highest of Week 5 on the DraftKings Sportsbook at 49 points.
Everything points towards another huge performance from Wicks and he is a must-start for both season-long leagues and DFS. Additionally, backing Wicks to go over his 45.5-yard receiving line on the DraftKings Sportsbook (-125) is a sharp call.
UPDATE: In addition to Watson remaining sidelined at practice, Romeo Doubs ($5,400; personal) missed practice Thursday and Matt LaFleur told the media they will take it “day-by-day” on Doubs playing this Sunday. The wideout has led the Packers in routes this season and if Doubs and Watson are both inactive, Wicks’ fantasy stock will become even stronger, along with Jayden Reed ($6,500).
