Travis Hunter has moved way up the Heisman odds board after a big Week 5 performance. Here is a look at his updated Heisman odds at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Hunter was +1800 at DraftKings Sportsbook to win the Heisman heading into Week 5. Hunter’s odds have fluctuated all season based on the outlook for Colorado. However, after a big-time performance and a big win for Colorado over UCF, Hunter’s odds jumped toward the top of the board. He now has the third-best odds to win the award, behind only Cam Ward and Jalen Milroe. Hunter is undoubtedly one of, if not the most, talented players in college football. The fact that he is dominating on both sides of the ball makes him one of the most unique Heisman candidates in a long time.
The last time a player won the Heisman playing significant snaps on both sides of the ball was Charles Woodson in 1997. Hunter is on pace to put up much bigger numbers on offense than Woodson did, but Woodson’s Michigan team also finished the regular season undefeated. If the Heisman simply went to the most talented player in college football, it would almost certainly be Hunter. However, that is never how the award has really worked and Colorado’s record could be what holds him back. However, Colorado is off to a better start than many people anticipated and if Hunter can keep leading the Buffs to wins, then he is a real threat to win the Heisman.
