The Toronto Raptors (15-21) will look to put together a winning run before the trade deadline when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers (18-19) Tuesday evening. The Lakers are trying to get back to winning ways as well after snapping a four-game losing streak Sunday night. This is the first meeting between these teams this season.
The Raptors have listed Jakob Poeltl and Christian Koloko as out, while Otto Porter Jr. is doubtful. For the Lakers, Gabe Vincent is out and Rui Hachimura is doubtful. Anthony Davis and LeBron James remain on the injury report but both should be good to go.
The Lakers are 5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total coming in at 236. Los Angeles is -192 on the moneyline while Toronto is +160.
Raptors vs. Lakers, 10:30 p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Lakers -5
The Lakers are just 10-14 ATS as the favorite this season and 6-8 ATS as a home favorite. However, they are 12-6 straight up at Crypto.com Arena and did break out of a bad rut against a good Clippers team. The Raptors, on the other hand, are 6-12 straight up on the road. Even though they are 9-10-1 ATS as the underdog this season, I like the Lakers to carry some of the momentum from Sunday’s win into this game and cover.
Over/Under: Under 236
After a string of five straight overs, the Lakers have gone 2-3 to the over in the last five games. They’ve hit two unders in three home games as part of this current home stand. Even though the Raptors have hit the over in five of their last six games, the Lakers tend to step things up defensively in front of their home fans. This total is high enough where I like the under to hit.
