What happened to Rashee Rice?

Postgame Update: After Sunday’s game, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the fear is that WR Rashee Rice suffered a significant knee injury. On Monday, Rice will undergo an MRI that could confirm an ACL tear, which would mean he is out for the season.

Coach Andy Reid said that Rice will undergo an MRI on Monday. Reid said he is not expecting good news, and added, “I feel terrible for Rashee… we will hope for the best.”

We’ll likely get further updates on Rice’s status on Monday.

After three weeks of the NFL season, Rashee Rice ($7,300; 0 FPTS) was the leading receiver in the NFL, but he was forced to leave in the first quarter of the Chiefs’ matchup against the Chargers in Week 4.

He had not been targeted before leaving the game, and after initially being questionable, he was downgraded to out very quickly.

Rice was the fifth-most owned wide receiver in DraftKings’ $3.25M FANTASY FOOTBALL MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST] at 13.6%. Getting a goose-egg from Rice is brutal for those entries in such a high-scoring spot. Nico Collins ($7,200; 36.1 FPTS) was the highest-owned player and also the most productive player in the early window, and he cost $100 less than Rice.

Rice sustained his knee injury on the first play of the Chiefs’ second possession. Rice’s QB Patrick Mahomes ($7,100) threw an interception to Chargers CB Kristian Fulton. As Fulton was returning the pick, Rice and Mahomes both attempted to tackle him. Fulton actually fumbled the ball out of bounds, but in the ensuing srum, Rice was rolled up on in the pile.

His knee appeared to buckle and he limped to the bench, not putting any weight on the leg. A cart was brought out for him and he was forced to ride to the locker room for further evaluation.

Stay tuned for further updates on this very important injury.
