Week 4 once again features a doubleheader on Monday Night Football. The early game starts at 7:30 p.m. ET with the Titans and Dolphins while the 8:15 p.m. ET game is Seahawks and Lions. For this article, I’ll focus on some of my favorite plays for the Seahawks and Lions and how to build your Showdown lineups. Be sure to check DK Network for plays for the Titans and Dolphins game.

Captain’s Picks
DK Metcalf ($15,900 CP): Metcalf is in a great spot Monday night against this Lions secondary. Playing on the outside on 84% of his snaps, he’s going to see a lot of both CB Terrion Arnold and Carlton Davis in coverage. Arnold is a rookie corner who has been targeted against 19 times and allowed 13 catches (68% reception rate) for 160 yards and an average of 12.3 YPR. Davis was someone to pick on when he was with the Buccaneers and that seems to be the case once again with the Lions. Davis has been targeted against 23 times allowing 18 catches (78%) for 224 yards, 12.4 YPR and two touchdowns. Geno Smith ($13,500/$9,000) has been spreading the ball around but Metcalf is currently the leading target getter with 23.
What’s also separating Metcalf from the rest is his aDOT. He currently is at 12.1 and the only player on the team in double-digits. Next in line would be Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($9,900/$6,600) who is at 9.0. Metcalf is getting the deep shots and already has five of at least 20 yards. He’s grabbed three of these targets for 149 yards and both of the touchdowns he’s grabbed. With the Seahawks as underdogs in this content, a more pass-heavy approach could be on the menu for Seattle. If that’s the case, Metcalf could be in line for another big game in Week 4.
UTIL Plays
Amon-Ra St. Brown ($11,200): It’s going to be tough to get both St. Brown and Metcalf in a lineup. But, if you can, I would do it. St. Brown leads the team in targets by 10 over Jameson Williams ($6,800) and is tied for the lead in red zone targets. While he and Williams are neck and neck in a numbers of stats, it’s St. Brown who is more consistent. In coverage, St. Brown will see a lot of Tre Brown, who to this point has been great on paper.
But, it’s worth noting the soft scheduled that Seattle has faced thus far. Games against the Broncos, Patriots and Dolphins will help pad those defensive stats. Last year, Brown allowed 30 catches on 47 targets for 398 yards and 13.3 YPR. St. Brown remains one of the most consistent pass catchers in this game. Despite the difficulty of getting him in a lineup, I’d go out of my way to make sure he is.
Lions D/ST ($4,000): It’s easy to grab all these high priced guys but we need some value to fit them. The Lions D/ST is a solid way to do it. Value on this slate is going to be VERY tough to come by. Especially with news that Sam LaPorta ($7,200) will play. This takes away any appeal a cheap Brock Wright ($3,200) would have been.
Smith has been under pressure on 38% of his dropbacks through the first three weeks. This has lead to a 58% completion rate, a 67% adjusted completion and all three of his interceptions. It’s going to be tough to escape from Aidan Hutchinson, who has been on a different planet already. He’s already earned seven sacks, 13 hurries and five QB hits. The Seahawks offensive line is weaker on the right than it is the left but at this rate, Hutchinson has been matchup proof. I’m basically viewing this as I’m paying $4K for the sacks and sacks only.
Tim Patrick ($1,600): This is your true value play for this game. Patrick was signed to the active roster on Tuesday after being active the past two weeks, . It seems as if he’s moved to the WR3 role on the depth chart, knocking Kalif Raymond ($2,800) into fantasy irrelevance. Luckily for us, the pricing hasn’t caught up and Raymond is more expensive than Patrick. In Week 3, Patrick played on 34 snaps playing out side 61% of the time and 38% in the slot. It won’t take much for him to return value on his minuscule salary, so using him to help jam in some of the top priced guys is a must.
Fades
Kenneth Walker III ($8,400): This is not a spot where I want to use Walker. He’s returning after a two week absence and the matchup couldn’t be worse. The Lions are one of the top run defenses in the league, allowing just an average of 8.0 DKFP per game. That’s not a typo, either. Granted, the Lions have only faced 50 rush attempts against them but they’ve gone for an average of 2.7 YPC and only one rushing TD. Between the matchup and Walker working his way back from an oblique injury, he’s not someone I’m looking to get into my lineup.
