Monday Night Football features a potential playoff preview when the Lions take on the Seahawks.
It’s primetime, which means DraftKings has a Monday Night Showdown contest. In this mode, choosing the best captain is crucial since they earn 1.5x fantasy points. I’ve narrowed down my three favorite players deserving of claiming the crown and leading your squad to victory.

DraftKings Showdown Captain (CPT) Picks
Amon-Ra St. Brown ($16,800)
The Detroit passing attack revolves around Amon-Ra St. Brown. The fourth-year pro went to another level last season, finishing third in the league in receptions and yards. He led the NFC in target share with an astonishing 30.2%.
The 24-year-old is a member of the exclusive class of guys who everyone in the building knows is getting the ball, but defenses still can’t seem to stop him. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson does a great job diversifying his route tree, but St. Brown does most of his work within the sticks and does damage in stride.
Seattle’s defense has looked good on paper this year but has faced the disastrous quarterback lineup of Bo Nix, Jacoby Brissett, and Skylar Thompson/Tim Boyle. Riq Woolen is an upper-echelon boundary corner, but St. Brown is operating in a different stratosphere. The superstar wideout will garner enough touches to be a viable captain.
DK Metcalf ($15,900)
Even in his fifth season, every time I see DK Metcalf, I’m amazed someone of his stature isn’t slightly more dominant. The 26-year-old has struggled with consistency, often regressing to an overqualified deep threat.
After a few weeks, it looks more or less the same but with a safer ceiling due to Geno Smith ($13,500) tossing the rock at an MVP level. With a competent signal caller who can sling it around the field and fit the ball into tight windows, Metcalf’s struggles with separation begin to be negated.
The Lions‘ defensive line tends to get all the headlines, but the secondary is shaky at best, allowing the 2nd-most fantasy points to receivers in the NFL. If Smith can hang in the pocket, DK will have plenty of chances to get loose and find the end zone.
Jameson Williams ($10,200)
If no one is writing articles about the talents of Jameson Williams, my fingers must’ve stopped working. Getting here might’ve taken a severe injury and bizarre suspension, but the former first-round pick is finally flourishing and making the most of his opportunity.
The speedster has emerged as the clear-cut WR2 behind St. Brown. Williams has only logged 11 catches, but he has the DeSean Jackson ability to flip the game on its head in the blink of an eye.
The next step for him to catapult into a bonafide top-thirty pass catcher is to do more damage underneath and get the ball in space. He can run more than just go and post routes, and it’s time Detroit leaned into that. Regardless of his opponent, Williams offers a massive upside that will win numerous DFS contests.
